Gentle reminder that canned and frozen produce is generally just as nutritious as fresh (esp if you get low sodium or No Sugar Added varieties), shelf and freezer stable goods are a great way to buy yourself some time between grocery trips

Freeze dried fruits and veggies are amazing and have LONG shelf life. I put freeze dried banana slices in a tiny bowl of warm water to rehydrate and add them to smoothies. Eating dried banana as a snack at night is good too.
Dried peas/corn added to pasta and sauces/ramens.
I’m NOT saying that buying canned food is the answer to these bullshit times; these are systemic problems that require systemic answers. I am saying that if you’re anxious about grocery prices, there are adjustments we can make that will not meaningfully harm our nutritional health
I know it bugs me! But I’m so lazy and so unwilling to live much longer that it makes me rationalize that maybe this kind of plastic doesn’t do that. The label wouldn’t lie, right?
If you're buying fruits and veggies out of season, frozen produce will often be even higher quality than fresh at that time since it's flash frozen at peak freshness!
Often more so; since they can preserve and can it at the optimum time. While most “fresh” stuff starts aging right away and only available for very limited time
THANK YOU I've been telling people this for years especially as a neurodivergent person the judgement-free consumption of vegetable in any form is IMPORTANT
In my experience, low sodium soups don't have rebalanced spice profiles to make up for the reduction in salt. They tend to be barely edible at best. Flavor is important to good health.
I saw that you got boxes of broth so I wanted to see if you've ever tried Better Than Bouillon? It comes in a concentrated paste in a small jar, so it saves space, and the flavors are quite good!
Most veggies are flash frozen nowadays, so there's nothing else in there. I will never stop proselytizing the joys of Frozen and shelf stable veg, thank you for mentioning it.
