I only get to window-shop hiking most of the time these days. Not much in the way of national parks here, and my disabled pass doesn't work for state parks or privatized ones. Lack of affordable access, too. I sure can't bicycle in, lol.
I never saw hiking as a hobby in itself. It's like camping or driving - just something you do along the way to and from kayaking, and sometimes do extra of if the kayaking goes badly.
Or, something you do when you find yourself in a good park but don't have a kayak or a bike.
Worked in Yellowstone Park, back in the day. We used to call these people "tourons." Prime targets for when we went out and instigated "moose jams."
Good times.
I know an anime you guys would REALLY like. It’s called “Laid Back Camp”, it’s about a high school camping club, and features IRL camping tips and recipes!
Well there's pine cones and pine cones. I don't know if the ones near your house would be as good. It just depends.
I did get a nata for my kit and have been using it in the backyard in preparation. I'm going to try to switch to an all wood fueled kitchen situation on the trail

It is very chill and pleasant and a sweet break from most of what anime is, despite the setting and characters

Enjoying a picnic in the middle of a hike.
Packing out your gear and litter and continuing to hike.
Resting after the hike while re-folding the map or checking the battery on your GPS.
