Trump is not going to give a shit about confirmations. If he is not confirmed, he will just name him as Acting AG and move along. Same with any other appts. I feel like people are not understanding the gravity of what is happening.
They are trying to throw as many bad up as possible to see how many they can get through. If a few act like lightning rods, people wont focus on other terrible picks.
Republican Senate leadership is going to suddenly find a reason why advise and consent is unnecessary at this time and issue a blanket approval of all his nominees.
Let's see
1 There has to be confirmation votes.
2 IF these Votes are by secret ballot, there's a chance.
3 IF it's Not secret, the #GOP will fall in line.
I think people are going to be in for a real shock over this new administration.
People who are shocked are stupid idiots who need to resign cuz NEWS FLASH the terrorists are just getting started. Wait until Jan 6 felons get jobs in the WH and CONGRESS. And the pedos among them rape their daughters and there aren’t any abortion options. FAFO
Trump rules the Republican party like an emperor. If they don't comply, it's career ending. If she does comply, she'll likely lose the midterm; assuming someone runs against her.
No choice? Of course they have a choice and if they stick together and act like try professionals, they can win. But they won't stick together - and they have no morals. Just like him.
You won't see it ... those same Republicans sat back and trashed the OAM, but then supported him and everything he did. McConnell will make sure all his nominations are confirmed ASAP.
Of course, it's cheering to hear this. But while the aides may be appalled, I can't see any scenario in which the Senate Republicans refuse to approve ANY of Dumpy's nominees. Remember, they have at least a 3 vote cushion, and maybe even a 4 vote cushion. (Because Vance breaks a tie.)
Unless the Senate Majority Leader has a spine, every nominee will be confirmed. I just hope Trump keeps taking from House seats so the majority gets smaller and we end up with another lame duck Congress.
From what I can tell, appointees can serve in an acting capacity for 210 days without confirmation. Since this is a nonconsecutive term, it may be considered a “first term” and that person could serve up to 300 days. And do a lot of damage.
They could deal with it by NOT going into recess so the moron can't get his picks through via recess appointments like he told them to do. Their decision will be telling.
All they had to do was convict him when Jan 6 happened and all this would have been avoided. This version of Trump is going to be so horrible the Republican party will be destroyed if our Democracy isn't along with it.
They will huff and puff, clutch their pearls, furrow their brows, and strenuously object before approving the nominees who make a mockery of everything this nation has stood for over 250 years.
s it possible his nomination is a good thing? He’s more of an ineffective placeholder compared with a smarter person. He’ll be outsmarted every step of the way, leaving the DOJ busy cleaning up his messes when Gavin Newsom gets to business.
Given how few of them showed signs of a single vertebra during his previous presidency or in the intervening period – after he had showed his true nature on 6 January, don't forget, they were still standing by him – it feels naively optimistic to think they will stand up to him now.
These nominations are about retribution & disdain for the rule of law. There is no thought process. It’s all emotional & is narcissism driven. I wonder if people who voted Trump will feel the same when the retribution is turned on them, whether directly or as collateral. They won’t see it coming.
I bet they do confirm him. I’m willing to bet to appease the Oompa Loompa they will absolutely do anything he asks without fail. They are willing to let the world burn for their new god.
The fuck did they think they were getting? Any #MAGA reading this: I know it’s annoying when people say, “I told you so,” but in this case, they really did. Swallow that initial annoyance, follow those people, and listen to what they tell you next.

Same difference to them apparently.
You have now entered The Twilight Zone.

All back down to Trump. https://cbwrong.blogspot.com/2024/11/veterans-day-is-day-i-never-really.html?m=1
They had their chance to dissent.
Collins, maybe?
And how many of them did know, but voted anyway.
Does it matter? When the consequences hit them, will we have options to offer?
Well-considered, qualified, ethical nominees?
Come on, it’s Trump, for Pete’s sake!
He’s appointed them, they’re in 🙄
