Good news in NYC. Already among the safest big US cities, in the first 3 months of 2025 we had only 63 murders, the 2nd fewest ever recorded. And 140 shootings, the fewest since NYPD stats started in 1994. On the subway system crime fell 18% and nobody was killed for the first time since 2018.

Jack Maple did not cause crime to fall in San Francisco, which I believe was the city that had the biggest crime drop in the '90s. But did not cause crime to drop in Toronto, crime dropped across
Crime drops in 1994? After the rise in crime has already been stopped for a couple years and it's coming down?
After the 10,000 new cops, that Dinkins convinced the state to pay for have just now come out of the academy?

Well crime will never be zero like it is in their little boring town of 5,000 with two stores, one gas station, a church & bar that only serves Schaefer beer. 😀
The rate in NYC right now is below 3 per 100,000 So under HALF the rate for the country as a whole. That's lower than the rates for over 40 states.
NYC has had an exceptionally low crime rate for decades.
I often tell people.
NYC is not on the list of 100 most dangerous places in the USA.
It's not on the list of 10 most dangerous places in New York state
IF I go to visit anyone outside of NYC it's mostly dangerous to walk, impossible to bike and unless you are in a decent sized place with a college, hard to get around by transit.
Man USA, is some else.
