Just agree to differ then. It is a lovely day and I am off for a long walk. All I can say is that I am thankful that my grandsons will be going to a comprehensive with good behaviour, without SLANT and they can do normal things like chat in a corridor. I’m interested in which of my phrases you believe is me “insisting” all is well. My recollection is that we have both delighted in great schools of all- to clarify, there are also some awful schools where bullying is rife, lessons are disrupted and kids are neither happy nor successful.

You make it difficult to keep track of a thread - this started by me saying I hope that if Tom Bennett applies (maybe he won’t and is ready for a change) he won’t get it because after all this time he still says behaviour is poor and, in my opinion, we need radical change- not more of the same.

We will not solve the problem of school attendance and poor mental health unless we change the system and listen to children. Sadly UK comes way down in child happiness. Hardly surprising when toilets are locked and pupils are even told how to sit. Where is the joy in learning?

Are you suggesting that men don’t understand what’s good about learning, or that women’s toilets have some secret joys? Or are you just being sexist and dismissing someone’s contribution to a conversation on the grounds of their gender?
