Love waking up to find out I'm banned from my favorite con's fursuit parade. @anthrocon.org this is ridiculous. I understand pre-approval and requiring to limit parade size but this is how I've always done fursuiting, how is a blanket no skin rule reasonable

Big cons get too corporate
Bloodstock is better. Smaller, more metal, and land that drains properly into the nearby river.
Seeing shit like this pop up makes me want to design a character with like. Explicitly human hands or something. Or maybe a reverse mermaid...
"We want everyone to have fun! Just not like that!!"
That's what drove me out of the IRL fandom; too many idiots pushed into making dumb financial decisions and bragging about it.
Honestly they can get fucked.
So it should cover your body while keeping you cool. Still, the rule is absolutely ass and comes off as massively elitist. Still trying to think of their intents to maybe understand the rule better. Idk.
Effectively discouraging poodling is a terrible idea on so many levels. Even if they want to feature full suits mainly theres 100x better ways to word it. “Not showing skin” is fucked.
Come on, my guy. I understand a need for drawing a line but last I checked this is a fursuit parade for the public and attendees, not a fursuit fashion show.
…. But wait, chicken wire? Damn…
Considering how hot it gets and the stories I’ve heard with the fursuit parade… now I *have* to buy a pricey pet suit to cover my skin if I could only afford to buy or make a partial (or want to keep cool)? WTAF?
Not to mention the “no flag rule” which I saw mentioned in the replies here, which seems pretty suspicious considering that the most likely flags to be flown would be pride flags.
It feels pretty ableist and seems to be trying to hide queer people so the con can be a massive pick-me about things, which is pretty cowardly and gross. Furry is queer and weird, don’t let them take that from you, especially during pride month.
Many people don’t just partial for the style, many do so for a variety of medical reasons outside of their control. This ruling would exclude many disabled people from the fursuit parade, which is ableist regardless of intent.
It sucks.
