My Great Aunt, Pearl Evelyn Logan, my guess is she was about 30 here so maybe around 1930. She had survived the Spanish Flu as a nursing student, and her mother insisted she quit school to rest.
When I get anxious and I don’t know why, I take a walk around the block. And then I sit down and try to figure it out again. And if I can’t figure it out, I take another walk around the block. Rinse and repeat. That’s what works for me.
Took in a stray & found out she was expecting. What an experience this was. Fun & cuteness and a lot of work. I kept a black & grey kitten found good homes for the others. I cried when they left. All 3 were fixed & named Guinness, Jack & Daniel. I already had an old girl named Rum. 🐈⬛
Do you collect cat pictures? That’s so cool. Thank Your page is like a breath of fresh air in the Trump smog thank you 🐈 though I also appreciate the anti-Trump community here
Alas, I don't have the one of Truman Capote with his cat anymore but I did bring you Ernest Hemmingway with his.
The others are just for your collection.✌️
I love seeing old photos, paintings, etc. where the people in them are smiling and having fun. Makes me feel a sense of connection, like we've always been the same goofy loving humans that we are today
Might have been so new to the military that he hadn't been issued / earned the rest of his uniform yet. I get the feeling this is post Pearl Harbor attack when the masses of young men are joining the services at a high rate. I do love your attention to detail tho!
Is that a reed-covered pond or just overgrown grass behind him? Could be East Anglia, and the architecture corresponds; though there are similar styles on the US East Coast. Mid-Essex to mid-Suffolk, around WWII or just after would be my guess.
Still a lot of hand-me-downs at that time, especially in the UK. Though recycling clothing was definitely a thing! I thought of East Anglia because of the amount of people stationed there during and post-war.
lol you’re showing me my own tumblr post. It is an urban legend because your original post claimed “cats… had passports signed with their paw prints” implying ALL cats did. They did not. That’s the legend part.
“It's only an urban legend if you believe it.” I have no idea what that means. I’ve seen that passport meme countless times and thousands of people believe it.

I love #caturday (though it’s now Sunday 😀)
The others are just for your collection.✌️
What a glorious welcome ❤️
Hint: "urban legend" is a misnomer here. Same for "PR stunt". Both documents were inside jokes created by the cats' humans.
