We also need to reduce the main source of microplastics in humans: car tire dust. As vehicles get heavier and heavier the amount of microplastics from traffic pollution is getting worse. Cities need to get rid of private vehicles down to an absolute minimum. EV's won't save us.

It seems more likely they'll reinvent the wheel before they get rid of cars. IMHO they'll end up using a natural fiber rather than petroleum based.

Lots of placing are doing it successfully, look at Paris's amazing reduction in both air pollution and car usage over the last decade. Always starts very controversial but the moment people realize how much better life is with fewer cars around, they support it.

Trying to do our part. We don't buy soda in bottles anymore (cans only), we don't buy water packs anymore (we have a water filter and bring thermoses to our jobs), & we recycle everything we can. Smarter ecological choices are better for the planet *and* your wallet.

At the end of every single day in my classroom there are multiple plastic water bottles left behind, with only a few sips consumed. Today we did a little math to discover the water is being sold at $14/gallon, almost 3 times the price of gasoline locally.

Now, mind y'all this is just one impact. We also know from other studies(new scientist has several) there appears to be measured impacts on such abilities as decision making, hormone regulation and the ability to cross the blood brain and placenta.Humans as of now on average in their Brains ~5mg. 😘

I work in the distribution department of a large hospital and am appalled by the amount of medical items that are made of plastic or packaged in plastic, not to mention the incredible waste of single use items that get tossed.
