Hungary is out and Italy is noticeably quiet but i agree, Trump is uniting the EU like never before, it could be an existential threat for them to lose Ukraine, particularly those in the East. Austria is rejecting RW parties as did Germany, Italy is right leaning, Hungary pro Putin.

been looking at European "defence" spending today and the size of their defence industries ... in raw terms their united defence spend is 3x Russia's ... of course it comes down to how much of it is useful to Ukraine however they may be surprised how little they actually need the US.

The future actions will be the thing that matters. So far, they have been found wanting, with little action against Russia (mainly coz they want the oil).

History turns on small points, so maybe this will be one of them.

It's nice but really I don't know of what use the small countries will be, in practical terms, unless it's in trade which won't benefit smaller nations either.
