Breaking: Florida just banned fluoride in drinking water. Because who needs teeth when you’ve got freedom, gators, and conspiracy theories? 🐊🦷🇺🇸
Also breaking: FL dentists are thrilled. Yacht sales projected to increase. 🛥️🍾

A full-blooded Tampon!

elemental fluoride, needed in trace amts, is not what is being put into water supplies. it'd be better to administer like iodine, in salt (and sodium fluoride in water is just that)
less knee jerk & moe research?
no.
it is important to factor in modern-day causes of tooth decay... fluoride is not a magic bullet against those things.
he throws in one or two things that are worth considering among a maze of bullshit.
you are obviously able to use google. take a look at dietary needs, the formulation of what is used in water
besides how we humans usually fuck these things up
But just remember that the ADA supports water fluoridation!
“Water fluoridation is one of the safest ways we can prevent cavities for children and adults.”
The pre-RFK CDC recommended a level of fluoride that minimized the potential developmental risk, while achieving substantial dental and whole health benefit.
The RFK CDC and Florida don't care about science, though.
If you live in a red state and...
value your kids' health, move to a blue state
value your kids' education, move to a blue state
value reproductive rights, move to a blue state
happen to be an undocumented immigrant, get your family the hell to a blue state right now while you still can
Just like proving that vaccines don't cause autism has been done already.
But RFK (and apparently, Republican states) are throwing all that away.
Winning!
What do you want to bet that list and the not-yet-published "10 Worst Public Health Failures of the 21st Century" are going to look pretty similar?
https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/mm4850bx.htm
More teeth being lost
More measles and polio cases
Higher newborn and maternal mortality
Family planning prohibited
Workplaces increasingly unregulated and dangerous
...
The only one that seems unlikely is a tobacco comeback, but who knows.
So I won't live to see the "10 Worst Public Health Failures of the 21st Century" list.
But the "10 Worst Public Health Failures of the 2020s" could very well be an exact reversal of "10 Greatest Public Health Achievements of the 20th Century".
Of course, the RFK CDC won't publish it.
DeSantis doesn't even know how many poor kids live in this state. And doesn't care.
