Meet my brother, Butters. Butters was running the streets of NYC and finally trapped by a rescue there. He’s full of scars and endless love. He found his way to us and never looked back.

We had rescue feral cats in nyc. Many had FIV especially the most scarred ones from fighting. But once vets discovered the source of a persistent fever & lethargy - much gingivitis & many teeth removed- they went from a couple months life expectancy to 8+ years.
My youngest used to do capture, neuter and release in Brooklyn. Any cat that wasn't strong enough to return to the street they would keep, hence they now have 6 cats in Gen Pop and 2 very special needs in isolation.
Butters had a kindred brother with the same name. Looked fairly different, but still very much orange cat. He crossed the rainbow bridge earlier this year, and left love in our hearts forever 🤎 Makes my heart glad to see your Butters thriving & happy ❤️
My rescue kitty was the product of the neighborhood skank and the local bully. Ran over by a car at 8 months, he healed completely and could scale 6 ft fences. Pepper lived to age 19 and is dearly missed.
Here’s our feral, Sunshine. He showed up in our backyard one day and knew the two suckers that lived there would feed him if he hung around long enough. He’s still very timid, won’t let us pet him. He’ll get a little close when we’re feeding him. He knows our backyard is safe space for him.
These rescues make the best pets. They’re so needy. They end up fighting to survive and are so grateful for your love. The one on my lap right now was thrown in our town dump as a kitten. Had I not been recycling cardboard I would have missed her very skinny little rear end. A cutie for sure.
They seem to understand just about everything you say. They try to please you. It’s crushing to have to say goodbye. Toby passed away last March of lymphoma but I still have his best friend Georgie - the black tabby. We have Toby’s pic enclosed in a glass crystal with a light as illumination.
Rescues are the best! This is Tulip. She’s a feral rescue turned medium chonk. She brings so much happiness to my heart and is a joy to watch as she is living her best life. 💙🙏😻
Thank you! She’s my 11 of 10! She had entropion surgery when we first trapped her as she had a very significant case of her eyelashes growing in and rubbing directly on her eye. She means the world to me. Her first pic after surgery 😻💙

Buff tabbies are so beautiful, and so special. Our buff tabby rescue Eddie passed a few years ago. We would call him Butters as a nickname. Your Butters is precious. Thank you for giving him the loving home he deserves. 😽
My little tabby was found on the streets of Chester. This is the time of year for generosity. Please readers, consider a donations to a rescue, or TNR program.
Perfect name for that beautiful golden boy! Love my "full of scars and love" rescues to the moon. They are a living example of hope coupled with determination.
It was a sad journey (poor Butters, thinking of a homeless friendly kitty on streets of NYC for god knows how long😢) but the ending is so happy and sweet I could cry.
What a lovely furballpurrball looking content.
❤️🎄💚😻✨🐾
My late great's scars got better with age, so maybe Butters will end up less unslightly. Not that I'm saying he's unsightly, but you know what I mean. Happy holidays!
I wish all the little butters out there would have a wonderful sibling like you and a wonderful loving family of their own. You're both adorable. Have a wonderful holiday together♥️
Butterfinger was our neighborhood ginger for years and everyone took care of him, he moved in with us four years ago at 12 years old. He turned out to be the SWEETEST and most loving of our cats.
I have had 2 separate ginger boys show up at my house, I rescued both, got them good care via a spa trip to the vet, kept one as my perpetual companion, and got the other into the local no kill rescue, he was adopted in 3 days, because he was so sweet. Ginger kitties are the bestest!
All four of ours are rescues too! Three were surrendered to a shelter, one wandered out of the woods at five months and has been a spoiled baby ever since

There is something about the eyes of rescue animals that display their independence, trauma and gratitude.
Living the best of his life now. Thank you for giving this boy a second chance 🧡
I think my brain is broken...
They are the funniest, loveliest creatures ❤️
How cool would it be to have all the cats you’ve had throughout your life all together in one snuggle pile with yourself in the middle.
That’s heaven. And I don’t even believe in religion.
She's now 8 months old and besties with our German shepherd/husky mix, Hana.
THIS tortie has 3 modes: Playful Kitten, Passion Kitten, and Murder Kitten.
