Wild Coast Raw, the company responsible for the tainted food which is causing indoor-only cats to die of bird flu, is deleting comments on their Instagram about the topic. So they're killing pets and trying to cover it up. Cool.

I’ve been following @kikidoodle.bsky.social utterly heartbreaking story all week about the devastation this contaminated food has done to her clouder of cats. I have cried more than once, and those bastards are trying to hide so more cats can die!! Fuckers
There are indications that there is a transmission path to humans from infected cats. Our government is (was, thanks Musk) looking into it. It may be that not only our feline loved ones will die.
To be fair, raw pet food has always had risks. Typically salmonella, campylobacter, and e.coli. It’s why I give people the hard stare when they tell me how healthy a raw food diet is for pets.
I used to love WCR, as did my cats. Stopped feeding raw when the ex broke up with me last year and I was left with only one cat that couldn’t get through the whole pint in a day, and am kind of glad I did, but angry that on top of every-fuckin-thing else, there’s this fuckery.
Not only that, but today they posted an image on IG of one of the samples that came back negative for avian influenza in an attempt to distract/confuse the fact a different sample from that same batch came back positive.
Also whoa who would have guessed, but they’re hiding comments and claiming otherwise (you can see my comment here because I screenshot it but yeah otherwise it and most other replies to their comment about “not hiding comments” are hidden :/
I'd be extremely wary of all products that they make. Who's to say that it hasn't happened to other beloved pets as well? Those bastards don't get to hide because of this.
With how fast my cats got sick and died, a person with just a single cat might never even link the death to their food. It was only due to discovering the advanced pneumonia in 2 other girls the day after my old girl passed we tested.
"Voluntary recall" via pet stores. They have not sent out anything to their customers who may not be visiting the pet store because they have sufficient food.
They didn't even call the fucking stores! I called half a dozen mom & pop places that carried their food last weekend, & NONE of them had heard from Wild Coast. The only ones that had pulled the food were told by their customers.
I'm currently working on a voiceover to go over a video of my cat Harpo bringing me Purrmaid stuffies to draw attention to what Wild Coast did to their creator by sitting on that info for a week.

The WSDA positively identified them as a source:

"Non-negative" just means "positive pending confirmation by a second test, & Dept of Ag makes that very clear when they inform you.
I hope they enjoy the brigade.
