Yeah, LSU isn’t grandfathered in with special rules. They have the same requirement to get permission from the visiting team. The difference is that the SEC itself has a rule that visiting teams allow the home team to wear white if requested.
Georgia Tech tends to wear white at Home too, though we’re not grandfathered in. In fact, we had a white out against NCSt in 2010, but the Wolfpack refused to allow us to wear white bc “it’s too hot in Atlanta in September”
While they could get permission as you know, Franklin (at least) has said he doesn't wanna do that. He said he would never give permission for another team to do it, so he won't ever ask to do the same.

In the day and age of 4K television and streaming, wild to me that we still follow uniform rules from when black and white TVs were a thing
Penn State is just lazy, IMO.
What’s odd is their hockey team sometimes does a white out and they wear white sweaters. So someone over there understands.
