Pretty sure the markets don't yet believe the tariffs are here for the long term. They'll go lower as the probability increases that the tariffs are here for the long term. Which means Trump isn't dealing with one bad news story, but continuous bad news affecting his core support.
I recall it briefly dipping to 3 on Monday. That was before the fake news tweet that caused the feeding frenzy among perpetual bag holders thinking they were buying the dip, followed by panic selling when they learned it was fake, then buying again because it might be true in Imaginationland, etc.
Fear is how Trump is manipulating the market. They playing the system like a fiddle. Drive prices down by announcing crazy tariffs, buy low, then make them go higher with positive trade announcements. Cash in and then do it again
