I think acknowledging the "real world" or having a real world character crossover to Hyrule would cheapen it. It worked out for the Sonic films, but Sonic has had real world or similar crossovers before and the setting lends itself to it. LoZ (imho) is too far removed from the "real world".
No. I Do not want a real world kid or group of whatever teens or random ad executive guy and his wife transported to another world to help Link and Zelda fight Ganon with outdated jokes, memes, annoying pop music, advertisements, portals in the sky, New York City or modern real world setting.
that all depends on the story they're trying to tell. Is this a video game world where our world also exists? (Like Wreck it Ralph) or is this the world of Hyrule on it's own? (Like Lord of the Rings) or do people from our world get transported to Hyrule? (Like Chronicles of Narnia)
