A senator celebrating the murder of political opponents should be expelled. Not debated. Not excused. Expelled.

That’s my Senator

Democratic senators need to stop pretending that GOP senators are their “good friends across the aisle” and realize many of them are just lying sociopaths who are actively fanning the flames of violence against them.

Surprised they listened at this point

The widespread intimidation of the media by police continues to not nearly as big of a deal as it should be. They are acting in violation of the spirit of the First Amendment if not the letter of the law.

Massive, and as the police state keeps showing its ass on video it will only grow larger.

Metal 🤘🏻

Fox News brings on Rebekah Koffler to talk about the military parade, but she seems to be heavily intoxicated so they cut away with quickness

the USA Today's website is infuriating

Opinion | To stop Republicans from killing them, Democrats must look inward.

my predictions rarely come true so when they do i gotta toot that horn a bit economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/interna...

LORD HELP ME WE BACK ON OUR BULLSHIT

In that case I fart in his general direction

the story today is of a profoundly low energy military parade being met with millions of americans in nationwide protests denouncing the dictatorial pretensions of the president

I think part of the problem is that Trump’s charisma is of a different sort than 20th century fascists. It’s comedic, ironic, laid back in a certain way. He’s very old. He’s a lazy moral nihilist playing a fascist on TV to fleece the country. He didn’t do the advance work to inspire anyone.

Top stories of today: 1. Political assassination in Minnesota by Christian nationalist Trump supporter 2. Millions take to the street to oppose Trump and fascism 3. War continues between Israel and Iran with US more or less sidelined 4. Minor unrest in LA contained by local police That's it.

We're capturing children off the street at gunpoint to get one last ride of garish nostalgia for an America that never was. A future dramatically better is available at the end of this, and the choice will be stark for anyone with a brain, but we've gotta be loud and uncompromising in the meantime.

The reaction

Couldn’t make it to the Hartford protest so I went to a smaller town in the morning, and the turnout was pretty impressive. The vibes were still a bit “Resistance 2016” for my tastes but the enthusiasm is nonetheless encouraging.

Protest vis just not giving a fuck

Hegseth might be sent to Gitmo over this

Current mood

I was thinking American Iron Front but this one s rooted in our own history, so I’m down. Let’s get organized fr.

Going? It’s already here

The intended outcome of kneecapping domestic counterterrorism resources

@governorwalz.mn.gov: "The road to authoritarianism is littered with people telling you you're overreacting."

It’s up there. But it’s so dumb I think it has to just be shitposting. You would have to be brain damaged to think The Raven is about Poe’s love of ravens

It’s bc they’ve been using this kind of language for a while and people have grown accustomed to it being a performative call and response thing with the base

I am begging you guys to recognize that leveraging the flag is basically the closest thing to One Weird Trick in American politics because regular people don't hate America like you do

In these polarized times, can we all agree there should be a legal limit to the amount of ice a restaurant can put in a cup unless requested?

well it wasn't a slow news week

it would be cool if we could have advanced medical technology without also having advanced military technology

it is pretty wild that the press, which has turned into a commercialized outrage machine, is not outraged about its reporters being targeted

does the Annie Lowrey article really argue ranked choice voting is undemocratic? or is that just a clickbait headline?

70%+ of the Republican Party are fascists now. that is the somber reality.

"Bluesky is dead" Meanwhile on Bluesky:

"A critical element of that is that elected officials cannot back down. They must continue to act like Americans. If the President wants to rule by tackling senators or arresting governors, make him do it. Elected officials owe us that. We should accept it individually ourselves as well."

Interesting that they used the British spelling of theater #NoKings

This is a lie. We all saw the video. The Senator clearly identified himself, and he did not "lunge" toward anyone.   If these miserable propagandists will lie to you about roughing up a U.S. Senator in a room full of reporters, what won't they lie to you about?

i bet trump is asking if they can nuke the thunderstorm so he can have his parade right about now

trying to distract myself from thinking about who has authority over the use of our nuclear weapons

see the USA still does innovate stuff sometimes
