“Despite the the parade supposedly honoring the movement she helped ignite, Rivera had to climb up onto the stage at Washington Square Park in New York City and take the mic by force.” #Pride

""To everyone who pulls me aside to whisper with the best intentions, 'You have already won': I am sorry, but the days of moral victories are over," Mamdani told the crowd. "As my father told me years ago, when the right wins power, the left writes a great book. Those days are over too.""

Our Congregation Director of Peace through Justice and Sister Mindy McDonald, CSJP are representing us today at the #SistersSpeakOut prayer and public witness for immigrants and a just economy at the US Capitol in Washington, DC

happy zohran day to all who celebrate

34,000 already employed by NYPD. Before overtime, $11 billion in taxpayer funds. Largest police force in world. Cuomo calling for 5000 more. Base starting salary alone: $300 million more. Could instead fund violence interruption & summer youth employment in every NYC neighborhood for 5 years.

Totally aside from the urgency of the mission, this is just an incredibly caring, authentic, energetic, and open-minded group of people to be around 🩷🤍🩵

Get out and vote, and don't rank Cuomo!

“The demonstrators were protesting Wednesday’s United States v. Skrmetti decision, which was an expected but devastating blow to the movement for trans rights and bodily autonomy more broadly.” ✊🏽 @genderlib.com www.thecut.com/article/tran...

Today @genderlib.com and activist volunteers took HRT in front of the Supreme Court and then occupied the street in front of the building. This was in defiance and dissent against Skrmetti, a demonic SCOTUS ruling that will kill so, so many trans people. Please do not avert your eyes.

The suffering this campaign of terror has created is incalculable, but so is the suffering we could have alleviated. Of those that survived, so many of us developed drug habits and crippling depression, total alienation from ourselves and others. It is true evil to impose that on another generation.

Neither shutting down the LGBTQ+ & trans youth suicide hotlines nor the corrupt Supreme Court anti-trans ruling that bans transgender care for minors will change the fact that trans people have existed, have always existed & will continue to exist, making the world better in ways bigots never will.

“By retreating from meaningful judicial review exactly where it matters most, the Court abandons transgender children and their families to political whims. …It also authorizes, without second thought, untold harm to transgender children and the parents and families who love them.” - Sonia Sotomayor

In response to the US v. Skrmetti ruling by the Supreme Court today, Lambda Legal, the ACLU, Make the Road, New Pride Agenda and a coalition of other orgs are organizing a "United for Trans Power" rally at 5PM in Union Square Park TODAY, please try to make it if you can and please stay strong!!

I still can't get past the idea that people in America are now supposed to accept that this is a valid form of law enforcement and just assume it's fine when random dudes in groups with face-coverings, no ID, no warrant, & no uniform grab people off the street and force them into unmarked vehicles

Having a bit of a hard time with the concept that if a guy in a police uniform who has a police vehicle shows up I should lock the doors and call 911, but if a guy in a ski mask with an hGH gut appears to be kidnapping my neighbor, I shouldn’t ask who he is if I don’t want federal charges.

NEW: Gov. Hochul announces that the state is dedicating $50 million for legal assistance for immigrants like those who may be targeted by ICE when leaving the federal courthouse

"I'm happy to report I'm just fine. I lost a button. But I'm gonna sleep in my bed tonight, safe, with my family... At that elevator, I was separated from someone named Edgardo... Edgardo is in ICE detention and he's not going to sleep in his bed tonight."

Federal agents just illegally detained Brad Lander in New York City

URGENT: comptroller & mayoral candidate Brad Lander was just arrested doing a court watch shift with JFREJ & is being held. If you can, head to 26 Federal Plaza, we're demanding his release & shining a light on ICE's violence. JFREJers are on the ground. We will send more updates as we know them.

WTF

It was so good to march alongside this band of siblings today. And to have Adam, Grace, and @seanminerwrites.bsky.social join!

Join us for the No Kings March tomorrow! We'll meet outside Stavros Niarchos Library, 40th St & 5th Ave, around 1:45 PM. (Or ride with the Menaces from Brooklyn Pride.)

This is so profoundly sad. I wish I could feel more anger instead of sadness right now.

As many as 500,000 migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela will reportedly be told today they have had their permission to live and work in the US revoked by DHS. The scale of this abomination is difficult to process. www.cnn.com/2025/06/12/p...

Just working, taking lunch and paying bills.

Lynda Carter!!!

“We know that migrants and refugees find themselves in the difficult predicament of being called to appear, which is what the government asks of them, and then being given orders for expedited removal from our country.”

🔴🎥 HAPPENING NOW: Key national Latino and civil rights leaders are hosting a press conference to denounce the recent federal government overreach abuse of power and militarization of our communities, seen in the recent Los Angeles immigration raids and protests. www.youtube.com/watch?v=NT-U...

I am slightly devastated by @repespaillat.bsky.social 's endorsement of Cuomo. What am I missing here?? Make it make sense... 😭

"'There are many voices in my community that can't be here today out of fear of what the administration is doing, so I want to be here for them,' 19-year-old Jeanet told NPR" www.npr.org/2025/06/11/n...

"This nation was built by immigrants and they carry it forward....They're never given the respect or recognition they deserve and they're constantly targeted. Enough is enough." New Yorkers took to the streets on Tuesday night to protest ICE and Trump. hellgatenyc.com/thousands-of...

Protests matter.

We will not cower, even in the face of Trump’s militarized escalation. On Saturday, we are going to rise up all across the country in defiance of this administration’s authoritarian agenda. Join the nationwide peaceful protests for No Kings Day: www.nokings.org?SQF_SOURCE=i...

Am I getting this right? * LAPD issued a notice that protesters remained peaceful. * Despite this, ICE attacked with pepper bullets and tear gas. * Trump then federalized 2k CA Nat Guard and sent them to aid ICE. * Trump did not invoke the IA. Isn't this a violation of Posse Comitatus?

kind of just endlessly sad and grieving that there are so few voices in the public sphere making the basic principled argument that immigration is an affirmative good in every way and the best way for this country to serve humanity is to welcome people who want or need to leave their homes

All eyes on L.A. tonight. Stay safe, everyone. And thank you for standing up for what's right and humane.

Praying that this will be true in LA
