He’d certainly try to knock some sense into him! I’d like to think that Win would be involved, somehow.

Wouldn’t be a bad addition for the right price if Amorim is trying to offload him.

Yes. I swear that if I ever got enough money to go away and never be heard from again…I’d go away and never be heard from again.

That’s totally fair! I may not be successful in dropping my connection to the club, but I think I would at least try if all that happened.

I think the vast difference in amount of money is salient. Like, Santi has orders of magnitude closer to the amount of money we have than the amount a billionaire owner does. You can be athlete-rich and still be good. You cannot be a billionaire and still be good. But absolutely, be like Santi.

Very true. I feel like we’ve got to allow ourselves a little bit of dark humor, at the very least, otherwise we’d go completely insane. “Haha, this sucks!”

Man, my tongue-in-cheek, lighthearted (to the extent it can be) comment of “haha at least our billionaires are generally shitty and not evil supervillain building killing machines” has taken quite the turn!
comment in response to post
Yes, they were. The starting point is all billionaires suck but some suck less because they aren’t (openly) involved in building killing machines. It’s a low bar and yet…

I think if Arsenal were ever sold to a human-rights oppressing, sportswashing state, I’d find another club.

Hah. I tried to write “I think you know I wasn’t trying to valorize them” and it autocorrected to “vaporize.” If only.

AFAIK the Kroenke’s aren’t building war machines. Yet. I’ll take my tiny victory of having run-of-the-mill shitty billionaires.

Yes, it tells me everything I need to know about your level of analysis that you find meaningless “superlatives” informative. The “hope this helps” to a stranger tells me you aren’t a pleasant person nor one to be bothered with.

And (it should go without saying) the people who did vote for the senile lunatic who just launched an illegal war.

They tried to gaslight us with the Saka-Palmer “debate”

It’s still just a loan from Arsenal. Contracts and loans run through June 30.

Pure, uncut. Inject it. Etc. It’s times like this that remind you the internet was absolutely NOT a mistake.

There is a much less savory word with a lot of the same letters as Diarra that I thought you’d written at first glance. Think dodgy lasagna.

Like, I know this take is a risky one and highly possible to be very wrong, but every time I’ve watched a full match of his, I’ve been underwhelmed. He’s a very good player, don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying he’s shit. I just don’t think he’s at the superstar level that everyone talks like he is.

Saying it now - I don’t think Wirtz is going to be nearly as good as most people think he’ll be, esp. this season. I know the numbers are there and I’ve seen the highlight reels, but I’m lower on him than most everybody. He can drift in and out of matches. Speed and strength of PL an issue, too.

If Arsenal go to OT and win, like, 3-0, I'd be willing to be that all of those "come ON" people will immediately change their tune to "well, United are crap, it doesn't mean anything."
comment in response to post
My guess is that Mikel Arteta and the players more or less take the schedule as it comes rather than looking ahead, but to the extent they care, I'd bet they view things similarly to me. They'll be excited by tricky fixtures to start the season and eager to prove themselves.
comment in response to post
And if Arsenal aren't where you'd expect them to be after a difficult opening six matches, they'll have eight months to get there, with a number of the tougher fixtures out of the way.

Yes, the ones we see around here all look healthy - good color, fur consistency, etc. They really don't seem to mind the dogs barking at them, either. They stop and look then go on their merry way.

Oh, that sucks! The other matches today didn’t have that, sorry. And yes, all these damn apps and logins, none of which work well. I hate it, too.

Or how about him and the media pressuring Mike Lee and other Republicans to issue retractions and apologies of their OUTRAGEOUS suggestions that the murderer was a left wing plant. Everyone who spread falsehoods should have their feet held to the fire. (Hah, as if)

If you click on the “explore” option, I think it is, it will take you into the app. Don’t think that gets you to premium features if you bought that, but I did the same thing as you and just clicked through like that to watch earlier today.

It comes through on the back, but the sweetness of the strawberry is the more prominent flavor. But the banana is there!

From a local brewery in Montgomery County, MD. A smoother sour, doesn’t have that bite that a lot do. It’s sweet, so if you aren’t into to that in your beer it isn’t for you. I’ll have a sour before switching to something else, just to add some variety. Can’t really drink more than one sour.

It’s the same thing as all those NFL teams, media, and fans saying “well, what if this QB does a Josh Allen” and becomes after a couple mediocre years. And, like, that’s just not what happens the overwhelming majority of the time.

I keep finding myself thinking, in all this talk about Democrats needing better messaging or whatever, that “we want to and will make your life (everyone) better” and figuring out the policies like healthcare for all, UBI, etc. that will accomplish that would be wildly successful.

Exactly my thinking. At some point, I’d hit a lucky tee shot and that would lead to a par.

But that might be underestimating how tremendously difficult the course is and overestimating my ability. But I think I could do it eventually. The answer is not never.

They got Kylian Mbappe on a free! They’re brilliant! Just like Manchester City only paid 60M for Erling Haaland. Definitely telling the full story.

I’m not even sure how accurate “spending less” is!
