I’ve had the discussion with UX designers that telling a tech to find the black Altima in the body shop’s lot is not specific enough
comment in response to post
It means slightly collide with, right? I’ve seen Nissan Altimas, often sporting rental agency stickers, wack more things than any other vehicle.

Hybrid places severe limits on where you can hire from, one of the bigger benefits of remote work.

The PJs by Jefferson
comment in response to post
There were a bunch of SWBNO workers in front of the PJs with a jackhammer. Last I saw there was a geyser spraying from the hole they dug over the top of their dump truck.

Especially from a guy spry enough to dodge a shoe thrown at him

Thank you, that would be great! 10 minutes at an uncovered bus stop can be a loooong time when it’s pouring rain or 95 degrees.

And of course the unthinkable solution is for him to create an account over here. Gotta have the elon-algorithm leaning in your favor to make it fun

Do you feel like you get better comments and discussion by posting a line to this post? I think it’s an interesting idea, I’ve seen so many dedicated comments sections turn sour.

Too bad it doesn’t go back to the 50’s when the white flight causeway was built

I’m happy to see a manufacturer doing something different. I feel like all of Sony/Nikon/Canon’s recent cameras are slight spec bumps of the same thing. That being said, $850 is a lot of money.

That was John Stewart, who left late in the summer

I’m not sure “exciting” will be defined the same way at this new establishment.

It’s part of why @niedermeyer.online’s message is important, and thankfully starting to break through to the general public

I suspect some of the folks had good intentions but limited research. “Electric is good, $x a month and sign here” without looking closely at the company

I suspect “shoulda known better” applies equally to buying one of these as it does to the loan terms people are sitting on
comment in response to post
I wonder how many people are so underwater with these things that they can’t trade for something else. Someone 3 years into a 7 year loan might still owe quite a bit.

There would be an immediate and observable stratification of ai tool users and non-ai tool users.

I’m sorry, it compounds the pain. I try to get people to make contacts outside of work channels, but that gets dicey for a whole different set of reasons.

The lack of social development outside of work is also a problem. It’s one of the things that makes layoffs so devastating, people can loose their friends and their support network at the same time.

It's the same reason why ever winter there are a million posts to r/AnalogCommunity asking why the pictures of a ski vacation turned out muddy grey.

For me the big breakthrough was an intuition for what the meter is actually saying and mapping why something is dark or light to what the meter read.

Plus there is a ton of cheap EF bodies and glass. It's possible to find a digital body, a film body, and a nifty 50 for < $300.

I love this, it's all about cycle time. Digital gives the ability to chimp and go: click ... no, click ... eh, click ... no, click .. that'll do. It takes 2 minutes to learn what would take 2 months if you had to shoot all 36 then develop and scan.

But also, why do they have a quarter of a million people? What are they doing?

I bet that would clean up at Jazzfest

It’s parked in front of Kehoe Automotive on Freret Street in New Orleans, which is exactly where you would expect to find a vehicle like this.

Looks like their design team hasn’t slept since Slate’s announcement
