Was once MVP at the World Championships. I wonder though if the #NHLJets target a right shooting winger instead with Appleton apparently departing

Few things on that.
1) #NHLJet don’t leak but when they do they leak to Dreger
2) Ehlers agent only has 2 clients. The other one is Nino. Not an easy backdoor info pipeline on this one for insiders
3) Unlike Marner Ehlers might not have totally closed the door

Woah… I thought you were saying Winnipeg was going to lose its NHL team again.
Adding the word players after #NHLJets would have been less triggering 😉

“where’s the other trophy?”

I don’t necessarily see it as so black and white. If Fly circled back on July 1st and decided the grass wasn’t greener and wanted to sign I doubt they would say no. Of course maybe those dollars could have already been spent elswhere

What if the answer is maybe but not until he sees what’s out there first and explores his options?

As for Ehlers…. He can’t talk with other teams yet unless the #NHLJets give him permission

Toews can negotiate and agree to terms at any time. There’s no restriction at all. It just won’t be officially registered until July 1

If it’s true then he definitely ain’t going to Toronto Montreal or Vancouver then. Might limit his options in free agency if winning is also a thing.

Love the “Shubble Dayoff” transcription….. brilliant

I’ve always heard him referred to as a winger

I really didn’t focus on the whole mock too much. Just the Jets pick. I would need some time to give you an honest answer

Appreciate the added context. I’m not necessarily panning the pick just feel if the Jets reach in the 1st rd hope it’s someone with C potential or a D. Lee is heading to a very good program and will play and practice with some very good players in a strong conference. Would be fun to watch develop

This ranking variance is consistent with the reporting that team lists this season from 15-50 have never seen less concensus.

I’m not a fan of that pick in the first round. Another winger… one who isn’t a strong skater and plays a little soft. Scores a lot though. Good skill. His rankings are all over the map. Murat relied more on Wheeler than Pronman it seems but even Scott doesn’t think he’ll be a 1st rd pick

He’s the exact opposite of Salomonsson in some ways. I believe Hillier once commented they could envision those two playing together sometime in the future

I believe the only awards yet to be announced are the Vezina and Hart Trophies. Both going to the same #NHLJets player tomorrow?

I actually like his skillset a lot. His loan to Björkloven did not turn out to be a good thing for his development. Coach hardly played him. He was trusted more when he played for his country. Hopefully he gets more of an opportunity at Timrå since he’s now their own guy witha 2 yr contract.

Too early to project the team in December but I could see them both getting invited to this summer camp

🇫🇮 might even bring Markus Loponen to the showcase

It will be interesting to see if Kieron Walton or Kevin He get any consideration by 🇨🇦 for their roster.

Rashevsky was not selected by anyone in his draft year. I believe he was already 20 when the #NHLJets picked him.

High risk pick. Not playing hockey this fall to concentrate on football. Risk of injury + delayed development. Could also get FB div 1 offers. Jets did pick a QB (Copp) once though. Pronman & co. on their podcast think unlikely he goes in the 1st rd. Prob doesn’t make it to 3rd rd tho. Trade back?

ELC is strictly controlled by the CBA. The most he could guarantee to be paid on the contract is $183k (AHL salary +SB) They could increase that with GP bonuses and promise him him some time on the NHL roster.

BTW in the NHL if a team matches an offersheet they are prevented from trading the player for 1 calander year

I’m thinking they likely just go into the season with what they have now on RD and make any upgrade decisions at the deadline.
comment in response to

He would have to have a massive breakout from his performance in the NHL thus far which is bordering on bust territory.

The rising cap this season means offersheets are much less likely to be successful as most teams have the cap space to defend them by simply matching

Could this year be different and shatter the “Winnipeg” narrative?
