So we write to our MPs now, before this snowball gets chance to grow. We have all seen where inaction has lead across the Pond

Thank you 😊. The only thing not matching on our Venn diagram is the studying art. I went in the science direction, but think that science and art should be friends πŸ˜„

Oh there's many! Plus there are all the tree branches, walnut is amazing, and the monocots have their own charm too (in a 'The Scream' sort of way πŸ˜„

Loving the octopus and the frog, although when I first read your post with early morning bleary eyes, I thought you'd written 'I knitted a bunch of husbands'πŸ˜„

I do love your 'unsolicited writing advice' posts Joanne. I'm not a writer, but find that your wise words are appropriate for just about any creative art or design process. On related other matters, I'm really looking forward to getting reacquainted with Vianne 😍

Two opinions. The first is that we are not in a left against right battle but one between those with high financial wealth and everyone else. The second is that we seem to have lost the eco in economics. Without looking after the Earth, life and our labour force there is no economy.

I certainly agreed with Labour's pragmatism in their election campaign and I am enjoying having expert grown-ups in power. I just hope that the green shoots of growth that they seek are green in the ecological sense too.

I admit that I was one of those who voted tactically in order to oust the Terrible Tories. Although Labour have done some genuine good, if you look for it, in my opinion they are making it very obvious that they are trying to appeal to Reform voters, the finance community and the urban population.

Isn't this true of many aspects of creativity? If you try to fit into a set of ideas of how you should do your creating, then it gets very stale, very quickly.

I completely agree and think that this works for whatever creative field you enjoy. Personally, I design knitwear patterns, and there are a myriad of techniques, shapes, patterns construction methods and colour combinations to play with and immerse yourself into 😊

I've never been tempted by the pattern. What am I missing? 😊

The pi or half pi garter shawl is the definition of elegant simplicity. Double your stitches, double your rows; repeat until you run out of yarn. Maybe include a fancy border. So very satisfying and meditative😊

It's become my seasonal read for Christmas. Quietly powerful.

But narrow columns where instructions for one row/round run over more than one line can be troublesome for dyslexics and others.
