#MTGCOTD 144 is Samurai's Katana. It's our first #finalfantasy card and so close to release, the randomiser is being very kind. Equip 5!? I get that this enters as essentially a 3/3, but that's a big ask. This pseudo living weapon isn't doing much outside of draft, but I like it more than not.

#MTGCOTD 143 is Air Bladder. Oh, I love this, not because the card is good but because it's gross. A merfolk mutated into a parasitic organ, latched to a bird like a writhing tick in grotesque symbiosis. Funny little trick to play on a Voltron commander to get your ground forces through.

#MTGCOTD 141 is Gorilla Shaman. I'm a big fan of this card. You'll not likely destroy your opponents Aetherflux Reservoir for nine, but destroying sol rings, food tokens, mana crypts, etc, repeatedly is pretty great. Good use of any spare floating red mana that may go to waste. Apes together strong.

Rewatching it, I think the Thirteenth Doctor has the best end regeneration story. There's a lot of pieces in the air, but it's still super fun. Fifth Doctor and Thirteenth, genuinely great. #MTGCOTD 138 is Axgard Armory. A five mana equipment tutor in Boros ain't bad as an extra mode on a land, shame it's a mono colour tap land. Puts you behind on mana too, which is a harder catch up in R/W, not as much as it used to be but it ain't no Golgari.
