Did you know we have a free resources website dedicated to covering gaming hardware and games, looking at accessibility options in your favourite titles? As we’re celebrating the #FordGTAuction supporting SpecialEffect, check out our post on Forza Horizon 5:

it is very easy to do literally anything other than watch the genocide enabling singathon

It's #FaceEqualityWeek, one of the rare occasions I share a selfie. Like everyone with a visible difference, people with a facial difference experience judgment, ridicule, and exclusion. Even if we aren't ashamed of how we look (we shouldn't), it hurts to be excluded or judged by our looks.

As one of the launch partners of the Accessible Games Initiative, Microsoft is now first to integrate the accessibility tags on Xbox storefronts. The tags will replace equivalent Accessibility Feature tags, while some remain to complement the new tags. caniplaythat.com/2025/05/16/x...

Ta daaa! I've been working on this with @safeinourworld.org and @easysurf.bsky.social for nearly a year, and it's finally out. A free Workplace Accessibility Toolkit for any studios looking to be a more accessible place of work 💕 Happy #GAAD

On PC I look for input remapping first. My needs are simple, swapping from WASD to QWES, but you would be amazed how many games I skip because even this isn't possible in the game. There are workarounds, but I'd rather spend my time on more accessible games.

As usual on Global Accessibility Awareness Day (#GAAD) we present the AbilityPoints Diamond Award for a game that set a leading example for accessibility in games during the year. Our 2024 Diamond Award goes to Dragon Age: The Veilguard by BioWare! caniplaythat.com/2025/05/15/a...

For #GAAD, I might as well promote BlueA11y, the successor to AltOrNot. This browser extension clearly labels images without alt text, and can hide the repost button. Existing alt text is shown below images. It can also warn you about (in)accessible text, emoji, and hashtags. Links in reply 1/2

Global Accessibility Awareness Day means it's that time of year again.. the game accessibility trivia quiz! 20 questions, some are very hard. The real way to win at it is by learning some cool new things ☺️ forms.gle/yQgLnkLgmpqK... #gamedev #indiedev #a11y #gaad

Glitching out is a weird way of saying "doing what it's told".

I had no idea samurai in feudal Japan were that dedicated to troubleshooting Flash

In the run up to its launch tomorrow, Bethesda released an accessibility guide for DOOM: The Dark Ages. We condensed the long list of features and options, which include a customizable high contrast mode, control assists, and difficulty adjustments. caniplaythat.com/2025/05/14/b...

It's time for our second Barrier Breaker of 2024, the last one before our Diamond Award tomorrow! Today's Barrier Breaker goes to @ubisoft.com Montpellier, for their excellent cognitive accessibility features in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown! caniplaythat.com/2025/05/14/b...

Apple shared accessibility features they have planned for this year. Including what they call Accessibility Nutrition Labels. These accessibility tags are coming to the App Store, helping people determine if an app or game will work for their needs. caniplaythat.com/2025/05/13/a...

Given recent conversations in the industry, I wanted to highlight some amazing organizations, resources, and community-driven groups working hard to advance accessibility in gaming. There’s a lot of great work happening — and it deserves more visibility. A thread ♿️♥️

Shocking, but sadly not surprising. I personally know lots of other people in the community who have wanted to speak out, some for 15+ years. But when someone has power, fans, a litigious reputation, and brags about being a bully, coming forward is hard. This is a brave piece.

I know Grant well enough to know he took great care in investigating this piece, making sure every accusation is checked multiple times over. It's difficult but important to learn the truth about such prominent figures in the accessibility space. Lets keep our pond clean, safe, and inclusive.

AbleGamers has become synonymous with the gaming accessibility movement, but new reports from former employees and members of the accessibility community describe abuse, financial mismanagement from leadership, and a board that failed to protect its employees.

The next three days we have an award announcement every day: two Barrier Breakers, and the Diamond Award on GAAD. Today, we proudly present a Barrier Breaker to Bloober Team, for their implementation of a High Contrast Mode in Silent Hill 2 Remake! caniplaythat.com/2025/05/13/b...

Our team is taking a short rest and will be back soon to share updates about #PAXeast. For today though, we want to take a moment to celebrate the launch of the Access Forward Gaming Lounge with our partners @openthegatesgaming.bsky.social!

Elon Musk’s AI data centers polluting Black communities so that his Nazi followers can ask his chatbot questions is a perfect distillation of why AI is fascist technology

I'm at the age where I scale down graphical fidelity in games so the GPU keeps its noise at a pleasant level.

Love this image of a photorealistic Zuckerbot in front of his buttplug cathedral.

Pretty sure no one at Figma knows HTML and CSS if they feel comfortable showing that Shites product to the public. It's like they looked at some frameworks and thought, we can do worse than that. Divs for everything, random aria, JavaScript for simple style transitions...

Don't conflate longevity or confidence with experience, most older people still are figuring things out as they go. If you're younger, that doesn't mean you are less experienced, and you should trust your own judgement as much as any stranger's.

Ah yes, smartwatch data which famously includes a handy graph of autistic-ness. Apple will snitch on you when you stim too much.

People may assume that anyone who claims to advocate for autistic people is a good person. This is often not true; many parent-run autism organizations actively oppose autistics on autism issues, specifically orgs like NCSA and @autismsciencefd.bsky.social: thinkingautismguide.com/2019/01/im-p...

Starting next week, changes to remote raiding in Pokémon Go may improve the accessibility of Shadow Raids and Max Battles for rural and disabled players alike. Remote raiding will still be more limited (and expensive) compared to in-person raids. caniplaythat.com/2025/05/09/p...

I’ve added a couple dozen links (to posts, articles, videos, examples, Figma responses, etc.) since this morning: adrianroselli.com/2025/05/do-n... It’s nice to know that my reaction to #Figma Sites was not an outlier. #HTML #CSS #a11y #accessibility
