A Democrat since the age of reason. Inspired by Eleanor Roosevelt. Revulsion isn’t strong enough to express my feelings for the current imposter in the Oval Office.

Yes but it must be done in a non violent manner. There is no way this corrupt administration should be seen as business as usual. Resistance is essential, especially in Congress. The Courts are holding but the process is slow and without teeth.

How could they imagine a corrupt Supreme Court and one party ceding their power? So much of democracy relies on trust. Like driving in your lane on a high speed freeway.

The so called president of the United States watching cable news...Stephanie must have cut close to the bone to provoke such a deranged comment.

White House correspondents awarding themselves as if they really are the 4th Estate. Shame!

Good luck, Katie! Looking forward to your next venture! Sorry to see you go. Appreciated your good work and insights.

Absolutely!

I know but this has to be fought in the courts. Trump will bring everything possible to the corrupt SC in order to expand presidential powers. You saw the gobbledegook in that last decision from them. That’s why they are claiming they don’t have to bring innocent man back from El Salvador. Lawless.

That’s not how it’s supposed to work.

We are beating ourselves up daily with what the rule of law used to mean in this country while this lunatic mob in Washington run amok over every concept of law. They have gone so far as to read their latest court loss as a win. And some jackasses in this country are willing to believe them.

You are the inspiration every GOP House and Senate member should be looking to for strength and courage during these difficult times. Thank you! You have to wonder what they think standing for democracy really entails in 2025.

Okay so isn’t that the point of intimidation? If we give in to fear we cannot function as necessary. Think of the young men who were drafted during WWII or Vietnam. Our government said we need you to fight for our way of life. Can we not do our part now to stand up to this bully to protect democracy

McConnell was complicit in the first Trump administration for the sake of tax breaks and conservative judgeships. Plus holding up the SC seat during Obama term. Then you have Joni Ernst voting for Hegseth, an embarrassment to our military. GOP has gone as low as it can go. The list goes on and on.

Today big fat law firms are rolling over for him. Shame! Young men and women died in mud and muck in foreign lands for this country while lawyers hide rather than fight for the rule of law. No offense intended. My son is a lawyer too. I know many are good people. But you see what’s happening.

www.nytimes.com/2024/10/27/u... I’m on the east coast and read this years ago. He was always in the headlines. He craves the limelight. Same with the rape issue. She reneged on it because she needed divorce/custody to be handled.

His first wife (Ivana) advised that he kept Hitler’s speeches at his bedside. Does anyone seriously think someone could make that up? It’s so far out of the realm of what could possibly be considered normal bedtime reading. (She also said he raped her but today “bro boys” think that’s not possible.)

Okay, if you say so. I’ll say it outright. I despise him, everything he stands for and everything he’s doing to end democracy in America. When he first ran for office I was appalled at his efforts to undermine our institutions; CIA, FBI, DOJ. I called fascism and sedition then and stand by it now.
comment in response to post
A laudable premise that is virtually impossible today with outright fascism the order of the day.

Nothing to stop them.

When I hear this I laugh out loud. When I hear Democrats questioning who knew what when I laugh even louder. This is a corrupt and lawless administration. Who is going to hold any of these people to account? Everything they do is suspect; most is corrupt and illegal with no end in sight.

It’s not just that he doesn’t care. He actually has contempt for people. Why anyone would vote for such a lowlife creepy person is beyond my understanding. I keep hoping this nightmare will end and I’ll finally wake up.

Outrageous that one demented creature is allowed to affect worldwide markets in the way.

Rubio’s comments on these false immigration issues are the worst betrayal of our constitutional rights as well as sins against humanity. This administration will eventually be a study of our darkest days in history. If he wanted to live in infamy he picked a great way to do it considering his roots.

Sorry. I usually send as gift so article can be read. My bad. The Times has plenty to disdain but have good journalists and some great opinion writers. But if they try to muzzle Charles Blow or Nicholas Kristof I may have to cancel a decades long subscription. I don’t want to give up on journalism.

So much for free speech. Rubio is a hypocritical sycophant now. Little Marco.

So easy!

She’s lying. I can tell because her lips are moving.

This is truly breathtaking. The corruption is astounding. Does it matter if it’s legal or not? Does it matter if it’s brought before a court and a judge finds it to be illegal? This administration is not going to comply and sycophants are running the attorney general office and FBI. Totally lawless.

Trump and henchmen won’t stop until they bring it all down. Every last one of our agencies toppled in the name of greed and vindictiveness. His contempt for every voter is astounding. The outright lawlessness of his actions and intimidation of the judiciary is breathtaking. The courts are impotent.

Yes that’s what they do. And their followers will believe it. Propaganda lies and bull shit is their specialty.

Yes last time I saw him I thought he looked exhausted. He has the best insights because he worked with the legislative branch.

Better late than never. Good luck with the new chariot!

Well considering it’s taken 30 years to learn sweet talk I’d have to agree with your wife’s first comment.

Remember when Obama couldn’t have a cell phone for security reasons? Hegseth, Gabbard, Rubio, the entire lot of them are our number one security problem. But we can’t really be surprised. Senate GOP had no business confirming them.
comment in response to post
Like the rest of them are doing.
comment in response to post
Oh good that will do it. Urged him. Wow! Now Trump is really scared.

Just more smoke screen while democracy is being dismantled.

Thank you!

Because a spineless GOP senate confirmed them to run our country. Why has that notable fact not been commented on by Senate Dems? What did they expect would happen? This is where the blame really should be placed first.
comment in response to post
Inexcusable starting with GOP Senate when they confirmed this entire incompetent bunch of liars to be part of this corrupt administration.

Yes this is true which is why his son-in-law was given clearance during first Trump administration. Jared couldn’t pass FBI clearance.
