More coverage of federal raids on Torres-Martinez reservation in Mecca and Oasis in the Eastern #CoachellaValley where 500 personnel, including 315 National Guard troops, were deployed to marijuana grows despite "any conditions of violence or unrest in Riverside County."

They're running a primary so it must be, tho I'm hardly an expert. Would love to hear from an American on the matter. Suppose it's worth noting that most of our are unofficially affiliated in one way or another.

Once you start conceding an alternate, arbitrary legal status that deprives people of rights, they are no longer "rights". This is absolutely as central to questions of "constitutional freedoms" as free speech or guns.

Not just "labour shortages" and "aging population". Not just "obligations under international law". Right. To. Free. Movement. Period.

Been consistently scolded for trying to dispute that the masked feds and militarized cops here aren’t actually all the ~dozen J6ers from AZ which includes a man that dresses like a buffalo 24/7, another that cosplays as Moroni 24/7, and a guy with the most identifiable bowl cut known to man.

I noticed the other night and admittedly got a little concerned. Don't agree about lots of things but I always appreciate her perspective.

There's so many options!

I feel like I was lucky to fall in with a crowd of anarchist hooligans while young, so those positions just kinda came naturally. TBH I did not expect them to age as well as they did.

If this is not a "popular" position today, so be it. When the pendulum shifts back, and it will, we'll want to have been on the right side of the issue. If every other faction wants to disgrace themselves over it, let 'em, and keep receipts.

I'll admit that I don't think I've ever seen anything like this before.

I'd argue it's one of the primary failure modes, tho usually people have the decency to stump for feudalism not chattel slavery, ffs.

Such a wild character arc in those years. Felt very reasonable and sophisticated at the time, but when ya look back on the McVeigh interview, etc... *yikes*.

I checked their profile and it's all painfully normal anti-Trump stuff... except for this one giant, protracted argument where they're hardcore against Lincoln in the Civil War. It gets... grim. I don't even know what to say.

When I say "textbook" I mean I'm pretty sure this was covered in readings for my first-year Peace Studies course. Most of the people you heard of getting booked for this stuff were Christian Grandmas. Talk as much as ya want about Gandhi and MLK, y'all don't want nonviolence, you want complacency.

Not asking anybody to fly over to Athens and join the black bloc, but FFS, could we please have the same kind of maturity about these topics as the average EU citizen? Right or wrong, protests sometimes get rowdy, but TBH local soccer matches in many places see far worse than LA last week.

These moral absolutes leave no room for discussion or nuance about whether a given tactic is actually a good idea in a given situation. If anything they tend to back others into a position where violence is morally correct and righteous regardless of consequences.

If you can stand in front of a TV screen where the admin is kicking off martial law (and maybe WW3?) then denounce, in the strongest terms, a bunch of kids throwing empty water bottles, congrats, you've just made 3/4 of the argument for political violence.
