BREAKING: A federal court ruled Florida can't enforce an anti-immigrant law that criminalizes certain immigrants who enter the state. Governor DeSantis and other Florida politicians don't have the power to override federal immigration law.

This has confirmed what we always knew: The government can bring back people they illegally deported. Every single person has a right to their day in court. It's past time for President Trump to bring back everyone who was unlawfully deported and guarantee their rights to due process.

The Trump administration is considering deploying the National Guard for immigration enforcement, including for “night operations” or to target unaccompanied immigrant children. This move would be unprecedented, dangerous, and put all our rights at risk.

ACLU LGBTQ Case of the Day 🏛️ This Pride Month, we're looking back at some of the ACLU cases that fuel our fight for liberation. We filed our first LGBTQ-related lawsuit in 1936 after Lillian Hellman’s stage play "The Children’s Hour" was nearly banned in Boston due to “lesbian content.”

In March, we took the Trump administration to court for censoring scientific research papers about endometriosis and suicide risk, just because they mentioned the LGBTQ community.

Anthony Wainwright could be executed next week, but a Florida court denied him access to the courts and counsel of his choice. This is a clear violation of due process. Everyone has a right to fair legal representation and access to the courts.

Mahmoud Khalil's unlawful arrest and continued detention has caused irreparable harm to him and his family. As Mahmoud approaches three months in ICE detention, the Trump administration must release him immediately.

LGBTQ people have the right to express ourselves however we want.

Voting maps should be drawn with all of our communities in mind.

These attacks on Harvard are blatantly unlawful: The Trump administration wants to punish universities and students for exercising their First Amendment rights. Controlling universities is a hallmark of authoritarianism. We must all reject this gross abuse of power.

We cannot arrest our way out of homelessness. Solving homelessness requires improving access to affordable housing, mental health care, and addiction services. People need housing, not handcuffs.

The Constitution is clear: Habeas corpus protects our rights to due process, whether President Trump likes it or not.

NEW: A federal court temporarily blocked an Oklahoma law barring many immigrants from entering or living in the state. The law threatened the arrest of even those pursuing legal immigration status, in spite of federal law.

Last night, President Trump signed a proclamation banning citizens from over a dozen countries from traveling to the U.S. This order builds on the first Trump administration's Muslim ban, once again targeting people for their nationality and religion.

President Trump wants to drive trans people out of public life, but we will always be true to ourselves — not who he wants us to be.

The Trump administration is quietly expanding its work with Palantir to consolidate data from across the government and create detailed files on everyone in the U.S. This is incredibly dangerous for all of us, but especially for vulnerable communities already in the government's crosshairs.

This is an attempt to terrorize families and intimidate doctors into ignoring their best medical judgement. We will always fight for the freedom of transgender youth and their families.

We were in court yesterday challenging the Department of Defense for banning books and curricula about race and gender in schools on military bases.

BREAKING: The Trump administration rescinded guidance that reaffirmed hospitals' obligation to provide health and lifesaving abortion care to patients in medical emergencies. With this move, Trump is siding with anti-abortion extremists at the expense of patients' lives.

The criminal justice system should be rooted in safety, fairness, dignity, and accountability. These are the foundations of a new set of bipartisan principles for criminal justice policy change we developed with leading national organizations across the political spectrum.

Gender-affirming care is safe for transgender youth and legal under federal law. No matter what the Trump administration says or does, we’ll always defend the rights of transgender youth to access the care they need and the future they deserve.

We’re all going to die, but Congress shouldn’t be making it easier for us to get there and that’s exactly what the House’s budget bill does. Medicaid provides lifesaving care and Congress should protect it, not decimate it.

Trans people deserve the freedom to be our authentic selves.

Public schools are not for religious indoctrination. Texas, we'll see you in court.

No administration should be allowed to arbitrarily strip students of their legal status. Chinese students are a vital part of our universities and this cruel new policy will not only disrupt their studies, but put them at risk of deportation.
