It must change, and across the country ACORN is fighting to change it. Join the fightback against bully bailiffs and the unfair council tax debt system: acorntheunion.org.uk/join

A missed payment means that you could be ordered to pay for the whole year up front. Fail to pay that (and who has that much money just lying around really?!) and bailiffs could soon be banging at your door, taking your belongings and adding even more on to your debt.

Adani continues to legitimise itself and present a positive image to its destructive policies through partnerships and sponsorships such as with the Science Museum. Click here to tell the Science Museum to stop legitimising Adani’s destructive policies: acornuk.good.do/englandcampa...

Meanwhile, $billions in foreign money continues to pour into Adani, which has been accused of fraud, bribery, environmental destruction and green washing around the world.

Residents are facing: - Mass eviction, being forced to relocate to an area of dangerous landfill - No consultation, with their worries ignored by developers - No ‘right to return,’ no safeguarding of jobs, and most will receive no compensation

But Adani’s plan for Dharavi isn’t about uplift - it’s about profit - and will see the destruction of a vibrant, resilient community to clear it for luxury towers and shopping centres. When development is driven by and for billionaires, the poorest pay the price.

Adani is currently steamrolling ahead with plans to redevelop Dharavi, a huge community of up to 1 million people in Mumbai.

London Science Museum is sponsored by Adani Green Energy, part of the Adani Group - a huge corporate empire based in India owned by one of the richest men in the world, Gautam Adani.

💪 Our union will continue to fight to make sure that the £39billion announced today will fund homes for SOCIAL rent, not bogus 'affordable’ rent (that isn’t even close to affordable). But this is a step in the right direction!

We cannot end our housing crisis - nearly 150,000 children in temporary accommodation, over a million people on the social housing wait list, private renters paying eye watering rents - without investing in social housing📈

🌟Whether you’re a renter in a private, social or co-operative home, or live in temporary accommodation, you can complete the survey here: form.123formbuilder.com/6827704/rent...

@acornunion.bsky.social‬ have launched their yearly Renters Survey.🏡 The survey asks about your experiences, the quality of your homes, landlord behaviour, affordability, security and more. Please fill it out so that they can continue to lobby MPs like me for increased renters' rights!

But it doesn’t have to be this way. That’s why we’re fighting back - to build a future that works for us, not the wealthy💪

But this isn’t an isolated incident. From the banks, to utilities, to housing, this country is set up to make the rich richer. These parasites line their pockets at the expense of our communities, our class, and our country.

He was heavily criticised for excessive spending during his tenure, with a string of expensive acquisitions, purchases of private jets, and a £350m campus leaving the RBS group without any financial buffers to weather the financial crisis. Yet he’s being rewarded with millions.

The government is selling its final stake in NatWest following the £45bn state bailout in 2008 that cost the British public so heavily. And they’re losing £10bn. Despite Fred’s mismanagement of the bank at the time, he’s still lining his pockets…

Your input will give us vital information about housing in 2025 and allow us to track the impact of the upcoming reforms. It will help us shape our campaigns for stronger renters’ rights and hold the Government to account.

And we need to challenge “hope value” - where land owners sell land based on what it could with worth WITH planning permission, rather than what it is worth now. This makes it expensive for councils and community housing trusts to acquire the land they need to build new homes.

Let’s give councils the power to refuse planning applications from developers who have failed to deliver affordable housing in the past.

It’s time to implement much stricter and higher targets for affordable and social housing in plans. Too often the bar is set far too low!

We must stop developers getting contracts with the promise of a certain amount of social/affordable housing and then failing to deliver.
