The U.S. Senate will vote any day now on a bill that will kick millions off #Medicaid and increase health care costs for everyone. This could come down to just one or two votes. Send a message to them now urging them to vote NO on these devastating cuts:

The cost of health care is hurting everyone. But instead of working to lower health care costs, Congress is moving a bill forward that will increase costs for everyone, even those with private insurance. #ProtectMedicaid #ProtectAffordableCare (1/2)

For our June Volunteer Spotlight, we’re thrilled to highlight David Russo, Executive Director of @cheekycharity.bsky.social & Legislative Ambassador with ACS CAN NY. Huge thanks to David for arranging for ACS CAN to partner with Cheeky Charity at @capitalpridedc.bsky.social this #PrideMonth.

⚠️ The proposed cuts in the budget bill go well beyond #Medicaid. They would kick nearly 11 million off health insurance & raise health care costs for everyone. We're encouraged to see so many advocates urging their Senators to vote NO on this bill. #ProtectAffordableCare #ProtectMedicaid (1/2)

Congress is considering a budget proposal that would slash #CancerResearch funding by nearly 40%. Without this funding, the next generation of cancer researchers may never get the chance to develop lifesaving treatments. Send a message to your members of Congress urging them to reject these cuts:

When Josh was diagnosed with cancer, he would have faced financial ruin if it weren't for #Medicaid. Now, it's at risk. The Senate will vote soon on a bill that will kick nearly 11 million people off their insurance and raise health care costs. Urge them to vote NO: go.fightcancer.org/3ZqF89K

Thrilled to see ACS CAN volunteers on #CapitolHill today! Our cancer advocates attended the Senate Appropriations LHHS Subcommittee hearing to support the critical need for #CancerResearch funding for the National Institutes of Health. This is key to ending cancer as we know it, for everyone. (1/2)

Rep. @deluzio.house.gov - As a volunteer with the @acscan.bsky.social, I urge you to reject the deep cuts to cancer research and prevention programs that were outlined in the president’s proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2026. act.fightcancer.org/a/congress-c...

ICYMI: Recently, the Henrietta Lacks Congressional Gold Medal Act was introduced in the U.S. House & Senate, which will posthumously be awarded in recognition of the invaluable contributions her immortal “HeLa” cells have had to scientific research & more.

The #MCEDAct now has the bipartisan support of the majority of House & Senate members. We urge Congress to prioritize the passage of this bill. "This demonstrates a shared commitment to advancing innovative solutions that transcend partisan divides for the greater good." @llacasseacscan.bsky.social

Your U.S. Senators are now considering a bill that: • Includes the largest cut to Medicaid in history • Will kick millions off their health insurance • Raises the cost of health insurance for everyone Send them a message urging them to vote NO on this bill! #ProtectAffordableCare #ProtectMedicaid

The president's recent budget proposal calls for a 37% cut to #CancerResearch funding. If this proposal becomes law, it will have life-threatening consequences. That's why we're fighting back. Send a message to your members of Congress now urging them to reject these outrageous proposed cuts.

Rep. @deluzio.house.gov - As volunteer with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, I urge you to vote NO on any Medicaid cuts. @acscan.bsky.social act.fightcancer.org/a/senators-r...

Today POTUS released his final proposed budget for FY26, which slices 25.2% from #HHS, including approx.: • 37.2% cut to #NCI • 40.4% cut to #NIH • 53.3% cut to #CDC This will not only stall scientific breakthroughs but impact our ability to combat the rising incidence of #cancer nationwide. (1/2)

Shagah is a 3-time cancer survivor. The #EnhancedSubsidies passed by Congress made it possible for her to access lifesaving, affordable care. Now, these are at risk. If Congress doesn’t act, they will expire & millions like Shagah will face higher health insurance costs. FightCancer.org/Affordable

The #SCREENSForCancerAct was introduced in the U.S. Senate today, which would reauthorize the #NBCCEDP, ensuring critical breast & cervical cancer screening, diagnostic tests & treatments will be more accessible to underserved communities. www.fightcancer.org/releases/leg...

Early this morning, the House passed a bill that drastically cuts #Medicaid and will lead to at least 8.6 million people losing their health insurance. Health care costs will go up for many who remain insured. But the fight isn't over yet. Urge your Senators now to reject cuts and #ProtectMedicaid:

1/3 The House passed a bill cutting Medicaid funding by an est. $715 billion. If approved by the Senate, these cuts will raise health care costs, negatively impact state budgets & deny affordable, quality health care to at least 8.6 million people according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Today the House introduced the #ClinicalTrialModernizationAct, which would enable #ClinicalTrial sponsors to provide financial support to patients for costs associated with their trial participation and ensure patients aren’t taxed or penalized for this support. www.fightcancer.org/releases/new...

Thank you @durbin.senate.gov for highlighting the recent layoffs at @fda.gov's Center for Tobacco Products and the shuttering of the CDC’s Office of Smoking and Health at today’s Senate appropriations subcommittee. (1/3)

The House is expected to vote this week on a bill that would cut #Medicaid by $715 billion & kick 8.6 million people off their insurance. We need to be improving access to affordable health care, not taking it away. Send a message to your Representative & urge them to vote NO #CutsHaveConsequences

We offer our support and best wishes to former President Joe Biden and his family on the news of his prostate cancer diagnosis. President Biden has been a longtime champion of ending cancer as we know it, for everyone. Read our full statement: www.fightcancer.org/releases/for...

Cuts to Medicaid will harm cancer patients. That’s why our volunteers were on Capitol Hill today to deliver postcards to lawmakers asking that they vote NO on any cuts to Medicaid. Share this video & tag your lawmaker urging them to #ProtectMedicaid.

Tens of thousands of @acscan.bsky.social advocates urged the House Energy & Commerce Committee to reconsider Medicaid cuts that impact millions of patients. Despite this, lawmakers who voted for these cuts chose to support the loss of health coverage for those with no other affordable options.
