The more I think about the more I believe we’re not selling Sancho. He’s only in it for the money. He could be playing CL for a top PL side in Chelsea where he was getting regular game time, but he wouldn’t take a pay cut. He can earn a guaranteed £300k this season just to run down his contract.

Yeah, fair enough. But we can get deal done/here we go outside of the official windows. I can see it happening pretty soon.

West coast summers can be nice. I’m actually wishing for rain at the moment because it’s too dry and hot this early in the summer. Smoke filled summers from wildfires aren’t something anyone would be jealous of.

I have a hunch we get Mbeumo done this week before this mini window closes.
But I don’t blame you for getting concerned. United seem to have had this bad habit of working on one deal at a time in previous windows. I couldn’t figure out why they were never able to multitask.

It would also have to be Rashford’s decision. He said he wanted a new challenge. Do we really think he’s going to want to backtrack?

Haha, sorry?
We get months of rain and cold here too so we appreciate it when it’s beautiful and sunny.

It would massively undermine Amorim’s authority in the dressing room. Ineos may as well sack him in the fall if they’re going down that route. And where does Rashford play in this system? He’s not a 9 or a 10, he doesn’t have the defensive work rate to play as a wing back.

I think we all need to refresh our memory on Rashford. In December he sat down with Henry Winter and told him he wanted to leave the club. That was before informing United and Amorim. The news took them by surprise. He doesn’t want to be here anymore.

I wouldn’t stress about it. It’s only been a week since he signaled his desire to come here. As mentioned, Brentford are probably scrambling with the Frank news.

I think Betis would love to keep Antony but they can’t afford him as well. Didn’t their fanbase want to start a GoFundMe to keep him there?

It’s the wages that are the issue. I highly doubt anyone is going to pay Rashford his £325/week contract, even Barcelona. Sounds like he might be willing to take a pay cut, but Sancho seems pretty stubborn about staying on his current wage.

I’m never affording the type of boat we were on yesterday unless I win the lottery. I’m totally fine with getting invited for a cruise once or twice a summer.

Garnacho and Antony will probably be the first to go. I’m expecting Sancho and Rashford to be drawn out, if they’re even sold at all. Wouldn’t be surprised if they both went on loan again

Hearing rumors that end of the month would be more likely? Sounds like United need to move forward a little more on outgoings to secure a Gyokeres bid.

True, they were gone a couple of hours later when we came back.

Is there an A++ category?

Couldn’t have said it any better myself. We’ve failed him.
Definitely got affected by the toxic element of our fanbase as well. I thought it was very sad when he didn’t want to celebrate that goal against Everton because of that fat fancam twat.

I was stuck in traffic for an hour. Sounds like it was around an equal experience 😂

They both fall into the same category in my opinion. There’s no way either of them were ready for the responsibility/burden of being our starting winger and striker.

Yeah, I get it. And I can’t be a hypocrite, I didn’t want him sold in January because I wanted to see how it fit into RA’s system and said if it didn’t work out he should be sold in the summer. I think we’ll regret it, but it is what it is.

Didn’t even know they were playing today. Is it a friendly or a WC qualifier?

The Sancho/ETH comparison doesn’t sit well with me. ETH was very understanding with him and tired to help him as much as possible. He even gave him months off to get himself sorted only for him to get his nose out of joint a year later for a lack of game time.

Greed of biblical proportions.

I really like Rasmus as well but it looks like his confidence is shot to pieces. Does having an experienced #9 as a mentor help him or does he need a move away to rediscover his form?

Do Cunha and Mbeumo help JZ’s game? Can we play at times with two 10’s and a classic 9 (VG or someone else) and then also have a fluid front three with JZ in the middle? Could be some interesting options.
comment in response to

Maybe, but I think we’ve failed to develop him properly. He’s played too many games and being relied on way too heavily. Wrote a post about it a while back after looking at some stats, he’s played more than twice as many PL games as the Class of 92 by the age of 20 (except Giggs)

I don’t think we’re in for two new strikers anymore. Maybe that was the plan with the extra European revenue?
comment in response to

He’d surely do better by going to Europe somewhere. I can see him running riot in Europe or Spain.
comment in response to

I’m kind of confused by us going after Delap when apparently the money was possibly there all along, even without Europe, for Gyokeres? Would we have brought in two strikers then?
comment in response to

I’d heard mumblings that his fate was sealed right after the final. Sad to see him go, I’m sure he’ll flourish elsewhere.

He said he wanted United, I wouldn’t worry about it. If he pivots and goes to Spurs, he’s not the right player for us.

Two perfect albums, both released on the same day.

I only posed the question from articles and books I’ve read, not firsthand. It sounds like there was a lot of division in the fanbase even back then with certain groups chasing their own agendas? I do think it’s safe to say the majority of the fanbase have never been able to fully unite on this.

Back when I was on Twitter there was definitely push back from Tampa Bay fans as well.
It probably would have amounted to nothing but I thought embarrassing on their home soil might have some kind of affect.

Not a word of a lie but I’ve priced out aerial plane banners and billboards around their Tampa Bay stadium and where they live. If I had the money I’d love nothing more the out the heat on them in America.

There’s nothing we can do now, but maybe in the early days? I don’t know,

Honest question: is the fanbase partially to blame for the continuation of the Glazer regime? We’ve never been truly able to unite against them.

Doesn’t help that I have an obsessive thirst for wanting to know how everything works. I probably waste too much time thinking about this stuff but I can’t help myself.

I think a lot of our own fanbase are generally perplexed as well to be fair; I know I am. Most messaging out of the club has been we’re broke and this will be a difficult window. I only learned about the separation of church & state with RFL and United PLC. Weird that’s never been discussed before

Excellent sleuthing! They’re shite at putting a successful team out on to a football pitch, but they’re crafty businessmen. Malcolm was pretty cunning and ruthless.
