A little bit of both. Hopefully things wrap up and the generator is gone soon!

There is some other ComEd work going on nearby that is causing the outage and re-feeding that vault with something other than a generator would be difficult.

Did any of the notices you got from ComEd say what they're fixing or replacing?
comment in response to
post
Probably has more to do with the fact that the vault is ~100 years old rather than the fact that it's underground.

These planned closures were decided upon a while back before the addition of larger than forecasted data center loads and PJM interconnect traffic jams occurred right?

Sox need all the help they can get and the Cubs used up their allowance of Divine Intervention on a Wednesday night in Cleveland a while back.

Voltage swinging between 237 and 223 isn't as bad as swinging between 127 and 113.

I'm curious about how many of these ting sensors they're pulling the data from. Not really for the Spain event, but in the US. They are showing a High THD for the ComEd service territory

Iltaco should be pumping out crazy new variations of pizza puffs. Buffalo chicken ones are alright, but since they're local to Chicago they should figure out an Italian beef

The main thing I know about LaGuardia is that he outlawed pinball machines. He made a public display of smashing them with sledgehammers and then dumped them into the river.

What happens when the forecasted data center loads that caused the capacity prices to spike don't pan out?
comment in response to
post
I'm pretty sure one of the early '10s polar vortices played out exactly like this and in response PJM re-evaluated their capacity market rules.

Data center load growth “is the single largest component of growth in utility load forecasts,” the report said. And “it appears that data center load growth will be concentrated in just a few areas,” www.utilitydive.com/news/shockin...

I agree that building out more nuclear generation is a good idea, but demand is spiking due to the AI boom which seems to be slowing down.

I often feel the same way. Limited genres, but DJs who upload full sets on SoundCloud are clutch. BBC radio 1 essential mixes are good and span most electronic genres
