Wondering if your grant will be reinstated from Monday's ruling? Check here. Plaintiffs have uploaded a list of 848 (of the ~2400 total terminated) they say are covered because they're to institutions in the states aforementioned or a part of APHA/UAW. The judge must approve the list first.

The suit you linked is different, in reference to IDC rate cuts. I did contact the AG’s office multiple times when the ACLU/UAW/APHA suit was filed to ask why MI was missing and heard crickets….

FWIW (probably not much at this point), I didn’t hear anything between loan info (May) and when it was awarded (August) BUT this was in 2022. I hope it’ll be the same for you!

By every I mean the Tigers and Padres since that’s who I’ve seen recently

anyway, "judging individuals by race instead of merit" is such a perfect example of how one literally begs the question. embedded in this sentence are a set of conclusions about how diversity programs operate and what constitutes merit.

solidarity, this is all such bullshit

I’d also be remiss to not mention that my award didn’t have any diversity work or provisions, nor was diversity mentioned a single time in my summary statement or in any of the documents that were included in the competitive review

They’ll just go through standard review, but K awards are highly competitive and it’d be foolish to think a shot at a new application is any guarantee of funding. I imagine this applies for anyone who lost K funding prematurely, including those not through “diversity” programs
comment in response to post
I’d guess not bc it doesn’t preclude eligibility for other K awards and you can’t apply for it directly, but agree to ask a PO
comment in response to post
It’s just a loosening of eligibility requirements for folks who lost grants, so could be anyone with a K award (except K00 since it doesn’t restrict eligibility) who is still in K phase who lost it “prematurely”
comment in response to post
For anyone with a mentored career dev award (K) that would normally preclude you from applying for a different K. eg K99 awardees are not allowed to compete for K01, K22, etc…but if the award was terminated early, they now can apply

I know, I know: life is not fair, do what you must to make it work, etc. Just screaming into the void!

Again, HE is a good example to see this at work. DEI officers were benign nuisances, useful for cosmetic purposes, especially during Obama years. But role was always in a place in the org chart where it wouldn’t have authority. The pushback started when DEI got say in faculty hires.

I’m so sorry…
