The economy matters to the middle. You need the middle to win. Most people cannot fathom actual worst case scenarios happening (like fascism), so you engage them where they are until they wake up. You can hate reality but that hatred does not change reality. Join, run, or serve for change.

You are getting distracted by the issue which is exactly her point. Trump won’t suspend habeas corpus yet (maybe later) he’ll get to the brink, then walk it back to look moderate. In the meantime the economy tanks while dems fracture.

I am frustrated with Shumer and would like Amy and other senators to make more forceful statements on issues like this, but she is correct that it takes calls. We do not have a majority, and no amount of politicking on the hill will change GOP reps minds without constituent pressure.

It’ll be ok. Just bring a pot of water to boiling, drop some tortellini in until tender, add sauce and a good pecorino, and drown out the nagging budget guilt with a soothing pasta coma

Same. Unfortunate though. I hope the many good writers and staffers are able to secure new employment where they are valued and utilized.

Not important right now and an absolute waste of resources. The president is striving to remove the powers of congress, or water them down to nothing. Focus on that until it is resolved.

Democrat messaging is horrible right now. They need to hold some kind of summit to get their ducks in a row and designate key speakers with quick reaction response mechanisms.
