i just find this so bizarre. searching through texts and doing the reading for myself is how i actually think through ideas! trying to put together a sentence is how i figure out what i actually want to say!

If you live in Kentucky and have children — or just care about the well-being of kids — you need to read the latest investigation by John Cheves. Using open records, John uncovered concerning incidents of abuse, neglect and injuries at these facilities across the state — and they're on the rise.

a new report suggests if congress slashes medicaid funding, there are 338 hospitals at risk of closure. for every 10 hospitals that could shutter, at least one would be in kentucky. more details and a list of vulnerable facilities across the commonwealth www.kentucky.com/news/health-...

The Budget has been officially passed! The HB 443 was also passed. @councilwomancurtis.bsky.social and Denise Gray were the sole No votes on the ZOTA. I *love* writing about planning and zoning, but I am grateful to close the HB 443 ZOTA chapter of my CivicLex career (at least for now).

I interviewed Rand Paul today about the reconciliation bill, Medicaid cuts, the military parade, Trump sending Marines/National Guard to LA, Trump's online/picnic retaliation against him, if he will run for reelection in 2028 and who he's endorsing in Kentucky's 2026 Senate rave. #kysen

W.E.B. Du Bois on Robert E. Lee: “Either he knew what slavery meant when he helped maim and murder thousands in its defense, or he did not. If he did not he was a fool. If he did, Robert Lee was a traitor and a rebel–not indeed to his country, but to humanity and humanity’s God.”

i'll take this a step further and say the smaller and more regionally important the city they're afraid of, the more embarrassed they should be. what do you mean you don't want to get out of your car driving through Tulsa

6th District Councilmember Denise Gray just announced that she is *not* running for re-election in 2026. She cites the media cycle around her allegations of sexual assault against then 4th District Councilmember Brenda Monarrez as a major reason why she is stepping away.
