Winning elections matter. We can have all the internal purity tests and ideological sword fights we want, but we need to become better at winning elections. No two regions of the country are the same. We must be open to a broad tent approach or be condemned to venting in people's comment sections.

My 2 Latina for Trump friends who I could not dissuade from voting for him twice are belatedly in grief about what is happening in their community. Our bread and butter came from helping immigrants apply for status. Their rebuttal was "too many of them coming into the country." MAGA=CULT.

Not all Cubans oppose Trump's deportations. Racism infects Cuban Americans. Goes way back to the Mario boat lifts. "White" Cubans never welcomed the arrival of their darker country men. Later arrivals were discouraged from settling in Florida. They had to be dispersed to other states.
