Those people were never true friends. There are many in the world who will jump on any cause, any fad, and associate with any group for the dopamine hit from constant acknowledgement and affirmation. If one is not consistently present to provide that, they do not get the reward they seek.

It's slow, but there are methods where you can make a personal desalination apparatus with bottles and a heat source for evaporation. It is not ideal, but maybe acquiring and disseminating this knowledge could save a life? There are videos on youtube that show how to do it.

Moreover, I have a personal reason for supporting Ukraine. I come from a Jewish family, and before they fled to America, they lived for a time in Ukraine, and there is a great deed I, over 100 years later, aim to repay.

Don't feed your pets raw. Even human grade from the grocery. It's a simple thing to toss your meat into a pan or a pot and cook it.
Animals may eat raw in the wild, but wild animals do not live long. Food-borne illness is one of the reasons why.

Counting on the ocean(s) separating us is how we got our "Pearl Harbor" (rest those poor souls who died there). Technology has improved since then. We are within easy reach now.
