Yeah, raytracing is just a hardware feature, no special requirements to install a raytracing card
I used a 3700X with a 2070 Super for a few years

Honorable mention to Sprite Ice, too. It was never sold in the US, but I tried some at the Coca Cola tour in Atlanta as a kid and it was the greatest thing in the universe. It was too expensive for us to import, and afaik it was discontinued a while back

2080ti is better as long as it's not considerably more expensive than a 3070, just make sure your PSU can handle it (ideally you want a 650W+ unit, 600W might be fine but is really pushing it.) They perform very similarly but the 2080ti has a lot more VRAM, and VRAM is really important these days

Looks like it does stable 1080p60 medium, unstable 1080p60 high with dips into the 50s with DLSS quality. It'll look a little blurry but it runs pretty well
You could also look into used RTX 3070s or 2080tis if you want more performance than that but those'll cost more, probably around $250 or so

You can get a used RTX 2070 Super for about the same price as that 3050, and the 2070S is a M U C H faster card. The 3050 is terrible.
I'm guessing you're worried about your power supply when you say you don't know if you can install a new card? As long as it's like 550W, it should be fine

No. They haven’t aged well in the slightest, they’re neat historic curiosities but there are much better entry points
GBA’s where the franchise really started to feel like itself IMO but you could also start on the DS and probably be fine working backwards

At least the game is (usually) playable off a regular console disk, it just has to copy over, and other platforms have achievements/trophies

I had this problem a LOT with the Switch 1. Portability wasn’t worth plying at 240p and giving up achievements if there was a PS4/5 version. Switch 2 fixes the worst of the visual issues but if a PS5 physical exists, I’m still picking that almost 100% of the time over Switch just for achievements

Totally fair, I don’t like game key cards at all. I know why they exist but it’s a solution to a problem Nintendo created
It’s part of why I’m debating just playing it on 3DS if I ever get around to it
The other non-monetary component is that I imagine the 3DS is a lot comfier to use in bed LMAO

Yup, I do in fact own Zero for PS4
I wasn’t aware it was the worst version until after my CE arrived :,)
I think I’d still have preferred it for the trophies (it’s why I want to pivot to PS for Trails, I’ve played CS1+2 on PC already) but I’m locked into PS because that’s where my physicals are
