Read this by Nicholas Lezard. It’s very funny.

The Decider.

…Nigel Farage saying: “I don’t find comedy funny!” is living rent free in my head! 🙉😁

“Not all minds are captured in this country.” @irmadimitradze.bsky.social on the fight for press freedom in Georgia and why it matters far beyond its borders, in conversation with @mariaressa.bsky.social, @caoilfhionn.bsky.social, and @jodieginsberg.bsky.social at #ZEG2025.

“Dictators understand our importance. That’s why they hunt us. That’s why they criminalize us. That’s why they lock us up. And that’s why they jumped for joy when Trump cut our budget.” Nicola Careem of recently defunded RFE/RL, with Paul Cethwynd of AFP at #ZEG2025.

Honestly I still can’t stop laughing 😂😅🤣

“Privacy is the foundation of your ability to craft who you are,” Christopher Wylie on why you should think twice before handing over your data. From "The Elephant in the Algorithm" convo with @aiannucci.bsky.social, Adam Pincus & @alixdunn.com. #ZEG2025

Stewart Lee and Armando Iannucci, talking about the Nazis... ... and within a minute, they're talking about Trump. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

New #StrongMessageHere is up everywhere. I’m still reeling from guest Sara Pascoe’s account of her meeting with Farage.

A tactic discussed in this episode really really drives me crazy. Create a problem or controversy by lying or exaggerating and then in the aftermath of that go around saying “we need to discuss this look people are angry and concerned!” See it all the time and it drives me up the feckin wall.

It’s only just dawned on me that when @aiannucci.bsky.social mentions Elon Musk in Strong Message Here, as he very often does, he’s DELIBERATELY mispronouncing his name, and in a subtly different way each time. Very well played of you and very halfwitted of me in to take so long to realise.

New #StrongMessageHere is up on #BBCSounds and indeed everywhere. Special guest Stewart Lee and I discuss politicians telling jokes and making TikTok videos attacking ‘weird Turkish barbers.’

podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/s... This is laugh out loud funny and a searing critique of modern culture. What's not to like? I'd love to see these two working together again on something more permanent. @aiannucci.bsky.social

Two bursts of me, if you can cope. 1)myself and @helenlewis.bsky.social chat with Jon Stewart about Trump, in #StrongMessageHere www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

GDP Growth should not be the primary goal. Opportunity and upward mobility are more important, writes Andy Haldane - and I agree. "Growth" which benefits only those at the top is harmful, increasing inequality. (Pope Francise wrote several times along similar lines). www.ft.com/content/50e7...

Excellent as always, the most apposite podcast for our age
