Welp, first day of NuJob went well :D

We kill our workers at more than 4 times the rate that the UK does. So it's good to know that it's our _businesses_ that are the ones at risk. [Gods, when will people here get that you NEED healthy people and envt for their business's long-term survival? Unless its grift and rent-seeking, obvs...]

Public debt is 48 percent Private Debt is 175 percent That is beyond unsustainable for Private debt

Seems like today would be a good day for Barack Obama to give a fiery, inspirational speech. Or just say anything.

YUUUUUUS :D

It’s obvious but worth drawing out what raids of Home Depot’s of all places is about. It’s rounding up people who are really eager for work and for whom there is work, peoples whose labor is in demand. We know this but shows just how far it is from rounding up just the bad guys.

Young academia has no work ethics! Every German Professor in the 19th century: 9 am got up 10 am breakfast 12 pm instructed my assistants to do my research 1 pm light reading 2 pm lunch 4 pm some writing 6 pm dinner 7 pm theatre 9 pm cigars with friends 11 pm to bed!

Still waiting for the article that’s like “these right wing militia members are in a bubble and it would be healthier if they exposed themselves to left wing ideas”

There aren't Trans bibles in bedside tables in motel & hotels, there aren't Trans fliers in my letter box at least once a week. Actually come to think of it, I don't ever remember a Trans person telling me if I don't believe in them I'll live forever in damnation burning eternally in hell.

NZ farmers expect the rest of us to keep subsidising their climate pollution. Methane is "70 percent of New Zealand’s contribution to warming". @marcdaalder.bsky.social

Great post :) Love e-Tangata!

It is crazy cold at the moment in Ōtautahi-Christchurch, NZ, with snow above us on the adventure park in the hills. As often happens in cold snaps, all the neighbourhood's korimako (NZ bellbirds) have gathered in our garden around our sugar water feeders, and they've been singing non-stop. It […]

One reason the tech industry has been able to take over everything in the past few decades is that they have total ignorance of and contempt for anything outside of their extremely narrow field of expertise - including where that field fits into others - but speak as though they're experts in same

When the government trumpets reducing emergency housing numbers and then says it doesn't know where the people went, it would be nice for the media to ask them if that's why homelessness is up, because the government made people homeless www.rnz.co.nz/news/nationa...

“I get so many messages from people telling me how scared they are by what this government is doing. But they also say that watching me speak up gives them hope. I think thats why my tīpuna gave me such a big waha. So that I could use it.” — Tania Waikato “It wasn’t bots, it was us.” #nzpol
