Oh, judging by your ‘continue listening’ list, you’re nearing the end of episode 6.

No surprise there. My schooldays were full of errors.

I noticed that announcement too. Every time they say something like that, I fear the worst.
I don’t know how I’d get by with Radio 4!!
(As an aside, isn’t that Jonathan Pie series brilliant?…if a little depressing?

I suggested something along those lines, pointing out ‘humourously’ that her week was going backwards…..
Big mistake…it was on a Friday.

I have to say, it was bloody delicious. Probably my best yet.

Yep. It was up to scratch.

Ah yes. A very familiar name. I like all you’ve posted by him in the past.
Will I like this one too?…..let’s click and find out!

Glad to be of service.
Enjoy your special day of extra-pampering.

That’s so sweet. What a wonderful relationship you have.
I only speak to my dad once a week (it is for about an hour though) and last week he was apologising (only half jokingly) for ‘still being here and what a pain it must be to have to speak every week!’
Silly man!

Not at all what I was expecting. Enjoyed that, in its Afro Celtic Sound System-y way.

No, that was new to me. Very groovy and cool video clip too.

Thank you. I knew I could rely on you, Joe.

Enjoy it while you can.

Nice work if you can get it!
I don’t think I’ve been much more than 3 miles from my front door in the past 6 months!

Wow! One week Hokkaido, another, Okinawa - you certainly get around!

Pretty decent girth on that. Score!

It’s très groovy, n’est pas?

Damn. I’ll have to scrub one off the running total.
Tough judge!

I hoped you’d dig it!
( and thanks for motivating me to read the longest piece of writing in French I’ve read in over 20 years!! Sorry my reply is in English 😔)

Thanks. I’ll check it out.

Hein?! What did les mecs ever do to you?
I like their contribution and can picture them in matching sharkskin suits and Beatle boots, dancing groovily behind her and looking on in slightly intimidated awed devotion.

I was going to slip that retained knowledge in, but didn’t want to look too swotty.

RN is another of those talented performers that, whenever I hear them, I think I ought to dive deeper into.
Nice pick.

Is this the chap who I always say ‘new to me’?
If so, then I think you’ve FINALLY managed to make him stick in my head.

That was a lovely way to start the day.
Obrigado.

Such a great song. Such a great soundtrack. Such a great film. I ought to watch it again.

Yes, although not that album so well.
Their first album was a regular listen when my son was a toddler. This track in particular is strongly connected to his early years for me. He loved dancing to it.
Sadly, I expect he has no recollection of it whatsoever now!

That’s what I thought. If I made playlists, these two would segue beautifully.
And I’m glad to hear somebody else has good enough taste to appreciate kidney beans! My daughter is out tonight, so I chucked in a hefty load of chili powder. 🌶️🔥

I’m inclined to agree it’s a bit more me than her. I mean, where are the cheesy synths?!

So were the beans I cooked! 😉

Your story reminds me of a house guest we had once. Lovely chap in all respects, but he painstakingly picked out ALL the beans in the dinner I'd prepared. Unbelievable, I thought, but clearly not uncommon!
comment in response to

Thank you for your concern! That is always a worry, but as it turns out, if anything I overcooked them. It is important to not add salt until they are cooked, or they'll never soften up.
comment in response to

I was thinking the same!
I just heard a bunch of twiddly notes! 😔

cool version of the classic song

We're on classic Alistair territory here, I feel, and there ain't nothin' wrong with that!

That was very nice. Such a great, catchy song.

The stink lingers on! Just cleaned all the surfaces again and will probably have to do the floor.
I have been forbidden from ever buying half price squid again! 😫
