as matt argues, these people are ultimately selling a narrative in which you, the reader, are both victim and hero at the same time. this is a powerful emotional cocktail, especially if you can alternate back and forth between stances as needed

These folks all do thinks I KNOW are risky like drink raw milk, eat fruits & veggies unwashed from the field, & drink water from streams
Heck, I grew up doing this
That we didn't get horribly sick isn't proof we were right but ignorance is seductive & now I'm crazy for not doing it

My anti-vaxx relatives are also the ones who never use sunscreen, though it their particular cases it's all part of a general "my body was made to live" kind of nonsense that permeates all of MAHA

He has hurt our city in more ways than you can count. Every budget our city legislators have had to fight for the lives of our constituents against his bad policy decisions. Many times we couldn’t win. He has cut public education, social services, healthcare, transportation.

His very first year in office, he cut $1 billion from our public education system. We, as the city, continued to fight for it back until we had to take him to court. We won. But he still would not comply. He refused to repay the foundation aid that was owed to us.

Cuomo resigned in disgrace and he continued to siphon off millions upon millions of our taxpayer dollars to pay for his own legal defense. Harassing the women he already sexually harassed at work, now in court. It is existential for our city not to vote for a man who hates us.
