Clearly, Trump is signalling that Israel has done little to nothing for him personally whereas Qatar, Saudi Arabia etc. have delivered a $400MM jet, $2B to Kushner, real estate bailouts etc. Will Netanyahu have the guts to play the Epstein tapes?

This article must have been AI generated or motivated by ad sales. What a joke.

Trump stated clearly during the campaign his economic plans, including imposition of tariffs. Ken Griffin supported him anyway. This is another case of underlying bias & misogyny overridinding rational thought.

It’s likely Abrego is dead. Trump’s deportation of Abrego and his violation of court order is unlawfull and a display of weakness. He is hiding behind an El Salvadoran strongman.
comment in response to post
It’s very possible that Abrego was killed in prison. Trump is defying the courts, and his administration claims no authority or ability to secure his return. This undeniably establishes Trump as an acting dictator.

Van Hollen’s declaration is a demonstration of leadership. Everybody in Congress that believes in the rule of law should follow his lead.

Then give a f—k about moderate Republicans who will cross lines and independents. Those voters decide presidential elections.

Hard left platforms have not produced winners in Democratic presidential primaries. Another factor to consider is latent racism & misogyny-it exists & must be factored into a campaign. Women, with major rights at stake, could’ve carried Harris. The vote, especially white women, was disappointing.

AOC has been great. She is smart, energetic, & effective. However, Republicans demonized her as a radical leftist. Dems must find candidates that can excite the base & pull from the middle. Winning is paramount.

This actually positive: Kennedy is taking the first furtive step to distance himself from Trump. A mere hairline crack but nonetheless significant.

This is a great example of political sophistry complete with circular reference: That there was scant evidence of terrorism proved the terrorist threat! The US is in the hands of Rasputins.

Agreed! Trump and Musk are dismantling the government & eliminating built-in safeguards (ie IG’s). AG Bondi & the DOJ will not challenge any illegalities & crimes committed by Trump & his minions. We are on the cusp of a dystopian democratic collapse.

Bret is correct, but Palestinian misery is rarely brought to the attention of New York Times readers absent a major catastrophe.

In case you don’t know, sophisticated foreign adversaries (ie Russia, China, NJ, & probably Iran) can decipher encrypted Telegram texts. Trump, Hegseth etc. are dangerous, unqualifed extremists.

Note that ICE has not targetted beef or chicken processing plants staffed historically by illegal immigrants, many of whom are under the age of 18. The reason: They are in MAGA states where senators & congressmen are owned by corporate interests.

Totally believable.

Lutnick is a multimillionaire Wall Street Libertarian who cares not for anybody but himself.

So Senator Fetterman, you will cast the final vote necessary to the passage of any and every budget bill - however egregious- set forth by Republicans? Effectively, that is what you are saying.

Are Dems not politically astute enough to state the simple facts: The Rep bill is not a CR because it significantly changes funding for essential services. Dems are willing to sign a true CR that keeps the government open and funded in accordance with duly passed legislation.

That statistic is just as relevant to Democrats as to Republicans. In Texas, Ted Cruz crushed Colin Alred, a good candidate, based largely upon that issue.

Poll whether or not heckling resonates with a majority of voters. Probably not. Dems must mount a coherent, clever opposition across all media fronts to rally voters. To date, they have not done so. They are killing it in hearings. Take that to the media, town halls, and the street!

A prohibition against biological males, as determined scientifically, playing biological females “diminishes trans rights”? Thatbis important to know.

Peter Navarro is a liar, and Fox is a Republican platform for disemminating lies. Democracy depends upon reforming the 1st Anendment to hold them accountable for such obvious, intentional falsehoods.

Tuberville is a liar, fool, and propagandist. His only defense to a charge of public perjury is abject stupidity.

It’s about Jeff Bezos lining-up for the great privitization giveaway of vital US government functions; and of course, his taxes.

Trump & Musk will go to Fort Knox to steal gold & report that the loss occurred during the Obama & Biden administrations. Patel & Bongo will provide cover & diversion. Grifters beholden to Putin.

Trump will weaponize the IRS to intimidate critics and shield himself and his supporters. Democracy is impossible without enforcement of the rule of law and payment of taxes. Today, the US is a Bannana Republic.

The problem is many if not most Americans believe Musk’s proclamations.

Bezos’ financial interests - tax & regulatory exposure - align 100% with Musk’s. The WP is transforming into a propaganda tool like Twitter/X. This is pure Libertarian self-interest where everything is transactional. The oligarchs elevated Trump, & he is their puppet.

If there is any fear that opposition to Trump will cause him to invoke martial law, then it is past time to take to the streets en masse in peaceful public protest to his gross Constitutional violations.

The genius of Republicans was making trans women in sports & bathrooms an issue that Democrats embraced thereby disaffecting many voters. This together with DEI was the Trojan Horse that faciltated Trump’s coup. And, Democrats are still rising to the bait while democracy burns.
comment in response to post
DEI & LGBQT were the Trojan Horses that opened the door to Trump and Musk’s coup. Constitutional democracy is at stake. Focus on that! Don’t let Republicans continue to divert attention to polarizing issues. Unite against insurrection.
comment in response to post
The US is experiencing a bloodless coup. In this context, men playing women’s sports is a distraction. Democrats must defer this issue that affects less than 1% of the population & fight for the restoration of Constitutional democracy.

If DOGE is truly apolitical as to reducing government, then Elon should eliminate all farm subsidies & crop insurance programs. Iowa farmers are pro-MAGA: This is what the voted for.

Narcisistic bullies like Trump intimidate those perceived weaker. In reality, they are cowards fearful of a real reaction & terrified of embarassment. Hence, only a 10% tariff on China & submission to Russia. America, rise and take notice before he squanders your freedom & security.

This is bad for the US economy, but it is great for Musk given that Tesla’s have the highest Made in America quotient. This is a perfect setup for stagflation.
comment in response to post
US unemployment is historically low at 4%, & Trump is deporting people who work & restricting immigration. US wage rates are high, & they will increase with increased labor scarcity. This, combined with tariffs, will create an inflation bomb.
comment in response to post
Trump’s people are inexperienced, but it’s early in the game. Dems must coalesce around a strong opposition strategy. The response to date is tepid.
