I feel a more reasonable alternative would be that all physical/online publications and broadcast media (with hosts) should be required by law during an election period to provide state funded equal media space to all candidates.

Not yet, but the Trust that controls the ownership of his media empire will pass mostly to them once he dies. My understanding is that this ruling in Nevada prevents him from transferring the entire Trust to only his eldest (conservative) son.

There is a flaw in this, though, that current demographic trends have people moving to the only large states that are building housing at a level keeping it affordable. I.E. Texas and Florida. If they just gerrymander those states and the trends continue, Rs will never lose again.
