The biggest problem with this kind of legislation is that the investigations are done after the results then if wrongdoing is found the punishment is "oh well, you shouldn't have done that". I'm not sure it will be easy to fix that without accusations of bias creeping in.

I knew that the W series was meant to be a feeder, but I assumed it was to another racing series not Sky Sports.

I think it would be funnier to have him come and then let the king tell him off live in front of reporters.

He'll fall back on his usual defence if called out on this: "It wasn't my fault, they told me it was a good deal so I signed it."
That's the toddler's defence of "a big boy did it and ran away".

The second one. In my experience the first group can rarely be arsed to do anything that involves moving.

Presumably China will now set 100% tariffs on raw materials needed by the America auto industry and 0% on vehicles to both reduce the prices of Chinese cars and increase the prices of American ones. Jeez, this guy is as thick as about 10 short planks.

A reasonable conclusion after one of the Executive Orders he signed removed the restrictions on the acceptance of gifts from lobbyists as well as reporting requirements. 🤔

It looks like a "no". There's no mention of BlueSky on their web page and I'd expect them to use their own domain in the handle, probably @f1tv.formula1.com

I think that last season he still lacked some consistency, but it was better than 2023 so hopefully he can improve again this year.

Personally I think Max is a talented driver and an overrated racer. I think JV has always had a big mouth, but he can still make valid points. Right now I would not miss Max for a single minute so there we are. We will miss some, we will not miss others based on our personal feelings.

Some will *never* forgive 2021. Those ones will not miss Max for an instant. Red Bull fans and Max fans will miss him, the ones left over will be "meh"; I think that JV is incorrect that "no one" will miss him, but I also think that more will miss Hamilton. It's option, that's all.

I miss Vettel, but because, for me, I completed the journey of liking him to thinking he was a d*ck to liking him again. I don't miss Schumacher because I never got to the last bit with him, probably because his accident stopped everything. In this thread we have an undefined value for "people".

I think RB would be upset 'cos it looks like he's the only one who can drive their car. Going back over recent previous world champions, it looks like Hamilton will have a similar legacy as Schumacher; how many people think that much about Vettel, Rosberg, Button or Häkkinen? Only time will tell.

Maybe it's time to stop describing these people as "Christian`". Call the religion something else, it has nothing to do with the teachings of Christianity these days.

Yes, but *BBC News* is business division of the BBC providing news to both the UK (through bbc.co.uk) and the rest of world (through bbc.com). The worldwide bit sells adverts that it shows to those outside of the UK, same as divisions like BBC Worldwide do.

New members have to meet specific criteria before adopting the Euro, in reality it would likely be decades before the UK could even be in a position to adopt it, at least from where it is now. economy-finance.ec.europa.eu/euro/enlarge...

Are you turning into Terry Wogan?
That sounds snarky. I'll be listening to the new show and Curious Cases. I have my tickets for the tour and I plan on watching the volcano series; I guess that makes me one of Dara's Old Geezers.

Isn't the reality not that vested interests are eagerly talking to MPs, but that they're eagerly "donating" to MPs?

Ah, I see. Still the usual risks associated with marking one's own homework, but I'd be willing to take that risk with what is basically a nationalised company.

Yep. Gary Stevenson quotes a former colleague sometimes on this point, "The economy is not employment levels, economic growth or exports. It's how much your mum complains about the price of food at the shops or the cost of heating."

No, it's because they were asked for one main reason and that is not their top one - this was categorised by YouGov, so may not be completely representative.
