Here you go: "While it is customary for U.S. Attorneys to step down after a change in the presidential administration, usually the incoming administration asks for their resignations and does not issue tersely worded termination letters..." www.reuters.com/world/us/tru...

He appears to be talking US Attorneys (one per judicial dist), and not Asst. or Dep. USA's; if so, requesting their resignations is not unusual. T may just trying to sound tough by crudely "firing" them. (I'm a former CA DAG - not the same, but familiar with the M.O.) He's always stirring the pot.

"A Golden Age in arts and culture" I guess he's going to show us, isn't he. Destruction of the benefits of an open society, intellectual exploration, beauty, nature... are desired goals. This is going to be so ugly.

"Instead of submissively complying... Denton blinked the Morse code for “T-O-R-T-U-R-E,” . It was confirmation that the Vietcong were torturing its American captives. Like McCain, Denton’s grit inspired a nation when we most needed to believe they hadn’t given up the fight." (Edited for space)

While we may (*cough cough*) find this approach annoying, I believe this is the best way for the Times to communicate right now. "We" know what they mean. We all need to learn how to read cryptic language, like Jeremiah Denton's eye-blinks in a N Viet hostage video. It's an example, not a sell-out.

"William Henry Gates III (born October 28, 1955) is an American businessman and philanthropist best known for co-founding... Microsoft ...." (You've been good to say "generally". But there are more than a few of us who have been dealing w/ tech since the '70's. Don't ignore that knowledge!) :-)

(Not saying that Class "A" shareholders (the largest of whom, as of 3/7/2016, was Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim, who owned 17.4% of such shares (Id.) do not exert formal or informal pressure regarding editorial content of the paper. Obv. good to keep in mind when considering the content.)

Controlling B stock is 90% privately/family owned. "Class A and Class B, the former is publicly traded and the latter is held privately—largely (over 90% through The 1997 Trust) by the descendants of Adolph Ochs... Class A directors, a third of the company's board." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New...

They want to destroy the government and nation. Every action has been consistent with this goal.
