Hey, TMP is PRETTY, I'll give it that. That reveal of the Enterprise in dry dock, with that AMAZING Jerry Goldsmith theme? That's pure nerd porn, and I love it.
The rest of the flick? Meh. It's Gene high on his own supply thinking he could compete with Kubrick.

And for the record, I wasn't daring you, personally, to find a bad Jerry Goldsmith score. We both know that's impossible. :)

I LOVE that you get to call him Larry, and that interview was absolutely wonderful. I'm so happy that you had that opprtunity.

For me, the worst movie is the first one. And, honestly, 5 is NOT good!
But it is FUN, and that's why I like it. It's got an interesting idea. The humorous parts land well. The scene with McCoy reliving his dad's death is heartbreaking.
And, of course, Kirk's "I NEED my pain" scene is pure Trek.

I suspect that your inner Marvin is going "Oh fuck, here we go again."
Or maybe that's just me.

Perhaps....my take is that this expression is because Robert finally saw his brother, and the relationship they COULD have had.
He may not LIKE Jean-Luc, but that's still his little brother, and they need each other.

Because they never learned how to be anything OUTSIDE of their nerdism. They never learned to engage with a world outside of their interests. They made their nerdism their identity.
And then, when mainstream culture embraced the thing they built an identity around....they became insufferable twats.

Oh MAN....yeah. That McCoy scene STILL breaks me. DeForest Kelley gives SUCH an amazing performance there....ugh.
I'm crushed just typing this.
And, yeah, that last ten minutes was awful....save for this moment:
"I have lost a brother."
"Yes. I lost a brother once. I was lucky. I got him back."

You are awesome, Mr. Ferrick. The world needs more people like you.

Laurence Luckinbill is FANTASTIC as Sybok. Shatner's "I don't want my pain taken away, I NEED my pain!" is one of the GREATEST moments in ALL of Trek.
And I know @seanferrick.bsky.social will appreciate this....Jerry Goldsmith.
Has the man EVER composed a BAD score? I fucking DARE you to find one.

Of course, Witcher 3 has been updated for Switch 2....and it now looks and plays WAY better!
Cyberpunk, natively, on Switch 2, looks and plays pretty well....better than I expected!
....it's a bloody good system, y'all!

"Witcher 3" ESPECIALLY was touted as a "miracle port" for the Switch....and, being one of the miserable motherfuckers who bought AND PLAYED IT (largely out of morbid curiosity)....all of the content IS there.
It is playable.
It looks and plays like ASS....but they MADE it happen, somehow.

The free roaming mode and the various P-Switch challenges are fun as hell.
The MUSIC.
Crom be praised, the music in this game is GOD tier, and I hope it hits the Nintendo Music app ASAP.
I was NOT expecting to hear a reggae remix from Mario Paint!
All that said?
80 bucks? REALLY?!
BOLLOCKS. 🤬

The Zelda games play like they SHOULD have all along....you went with Tears, I went with Breath of the Wild....it's practically an all new experience, and I LOVE IT!
Fast Fusion and Mario Kart World are....just incredible.
I also got Cyberpunk to see if it works....and....holy crap! It works!

Good to know! I just picked up Mario Kart World, (FUN!), and Cyberpunk.
I got the upgrades for the Zelda games free because I have the online expansion packs (I'm a retrogamer, and I LOVE having those emulators and games available whenever....and now I get Gamecube, with F-Zero GX, so....awesome!).

Heh. Treason Weasel. I LOVE that, and I'm going to incorporate that into my lexicon! 😁
Also, that motherfucker and all of his ilk have all of the self-awareness of a dog licking its ass in the middle of a public sidewalk.
