Is anyone really surprised that a draft dodger inspired such a piss poor showing on the part of the uniformed military? Would you have brought your A-game? Seems like, on this occasion at least, he got exactly what he deserved.

This administration is starting to remind me of a Brian De Palma movie. To wit: The male leads are comically macho, the women are stilted objects - or hookers, ethnic people are trashed, trans people are villains, and the action only advances through menace or threats of gratuitous violence.

Our president just e-blasted an impassioned letter to the editor to our whole community defending current rates of NIH overhead funding. Meanwhile, I’m still waiting on the email blast defending academic freedom and a professor’s right to free speech and due process as per uni policies. Crickets.

Just used up 3.5 hours of this One Wild and Precious Life completing my annual report and faculty self-evaluation. The only revealing thing - as per usual - is being reminded of how much work I do that somehow “doesn’t count” to the counters of the beans. 🫘💩
