"Street people" starving here in the US? I think you mean homeless people - umm, no, even homeless deaths in the US are very rarely from starvation. Meanwhile - in North Korea - there has been periodic famines for the last 30 years. The number is in the millions. Educate yourself.

Yes, I understand the original intent (Alexander Hamilton was a huge supporter of the EC). To your point - it simply isn't needed anymore. If anything - we are overinformed from 24/7 news coverage and social media.

I seriously wonder how many people sit out (and don't vote) because of the electoral college.
i.e. - how many people in solid "blue" states didn't bother voting?
I understand the intent of the EC - but I'm good if we just go strictly off the popular vote going forward.
