Carla has been a great co-leader and will continue to be a fantastic MP both for her constituency and for the green movement overall. It is a privilege to know her and to work with her. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

These results are insane.

Here is a nice change to a labour post I'm sure we can all get behind:

🏳️‍⚧️✊

Unsurprising that Labour, who removed clean air targets from its manifesto, is giving diesel and petrol hybrids another half a decade to be sold. The 2030 phase out only applies to cars sold in the UK. Spinning this as a tariff response is nonsense. My full response 👇

Absolutely right. Time for politicians to start telling the truth - that migration is good for this country - instead of dancing to Nigel Farage's tune and whipping up dangerous anti-migrant hate. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Our roads no place for SUVs European Transport Safety Council found that in a collision between a modest-size SUV (1,600kg) and a lighter car (1,300kg), the risk of fatal injury decreases by 50% for the occupants of the heavier car but INCREASES by almost 80% for the occupants of the lighter car.

There’s been a string of left wing commentators having a go at the supposed underperformance of the Greens (latest was Owen Jones in the Guardian yesterday). It really frustrates me how poor that analysis is, so here’s my review of their claims. colinboyle.substack.com/p/what-the-g...

Thank you to Neil from @greenwichcyclists.bsky.social for meeting up with me today near Silvertown Tunnel to express the London Cycle Campaign’s concerns around the lack of proper cycle connections in the tunnel, which is opening on Monday.

In one case a landlord tried to raise rent by a staggeringly unaffordable 121%, from £520 to £1150! Over the last year the rent cap has kept increases to a maximum of 12%. But the SNP allowed it to expire this morning. They must reinstate the renters protections immediately.

Labour’s recent leaflet that boasts about deporting more people than the Tories is gross. Labour is failing to provide safe and legal routes into the UK for asylum seekers, while seemingly revelling in turning people’s lives upside down. My full response > greenparty.org.uk/2025/04/01/l...

What is the IFS, exactly? From the BBC today. 👀

Not only cruel, but completely incompetent.

🚨 JUST OUT — privatised water companies DUMPED sewage for MILLION hours in 2024. Are you sick of this 💩? Do you want to end the profit from pollution crisis? Sign our petition for public ownership, starting with Thames Water: tinyurl.com/cd9y2pf8

Choosing to cut support for disabled people, knowing that many already live in poverty, and that being disabled means that life almost always COSTS MORE - that's a political choice Pleased to join @crips-against-cuts.bsky.social in Bristol today, angry that it had to happen (📸 by Clare Reddington)

I explained to the Mayor several times "plant based by default" still means meat & dairy is available but you put the other options first. He just repeatedly pretends to misunderstand what I'm asking. This is not the behaviour of a self proclaimed "climate leader."

The switch to 20mph roads in Wales meant: 🟢 100 fewer dead or seriously injured 🟢 26% fewer injured 🟢 The lowest 3 month casualty figure since records began 46 years ago That's in just the first year. Real lives saved, real families spared a lifetime of pain and hardship.

1/This is a lie from @WesStreeting . He does not “support” trans people in any way. He’s publicly stated he will never call a trans woman a woman. He openly supports transphobes - such as the Darlington Nurses. He despises trans people.

Why is there ANY debate? 🤦‍♀️ 20mph in Wales meant about 100 fewer people killed or seriously injured in a year. “There is, perhaps, a lesson here for politicians: sometimes it can be best to ignore the noisiest voices, and take the evidence-based course.” www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...

I mean…gaslighting extraordinaire. How you do you fight this level of mass propaganda? They have a transphobic Health Minister fully on their side, they’ve banned transitioning, introduced conversion therapy, and will now be calling trans women ‘men’. It’s trans people who are terrified of the NHS.

Brilliant news! At last, confirmation that the Govt *will* go ahead with the #NaturalHistoryGCSE 🎉 We have to get to know our fellow travellers on this planet again. Young people who know & love nature are far more likely to protect & restore it - as well as enjoying better physical & mental health

🎉 We've just hit 60,000 Green Party members! 💚 People across England and Wales are crying out for a positive alternative to the two old parties and that's exactly what the Green Party is offering. 🤝 Want to be part of the change? Join the Green Party today ⤵️

Utterly indefensible. Labour are choosing to cut vital support from vulnerable people. They are also choosing to protect the wealth of the super rich. If this makes you angry, do something about it. Join @greenparty.org.uk and challenge this Government.

The Minister for Health thinks Doctors are incapable of making diagnosis. Meanwhile the cost of living crisis and wealth inequality rises, fascism is back, you can’t buy a house and you can’t even work from home because it’s bad for Pret. But yeah. We’re probably just being soft.

Jenny Jones joined mothers and children taking over Westminster to raise the alarm about air pollution @mothersriseup.bsky.social brought parents, grandparents, and children together - along with a giant inhaler and a giant NHS prescription for clean air www.thecanary.co/trending/202...

On #LongCovidAwarenessDay I want to draw attention to the fact that many people are still living with the effects of Covid, and they often struggle to get the support they need. Government must do much more on research, support, and prevention.

A chat about the economy and why @greenparty.org.uk support a Universal Basic Income for all. m.youtube.com/watch?v=dWRZ...

We follow the advice. We pace, we rest. We try supplements. We meditate. We seek tests and trials... But none of this is enough. We can't do this on our own. On #LongCovidAwarenessDay the government must commit to properly investing in finding treatments for #LongCovid.

Screw the East London Line / Windrush Line. At least once every 2-3 weeks it is cancelled due to 'engineering with works'. This has been happening for years. And then, to add annoyance, they can't even be bothered to serve my local stop or my destination with the replacement bus...

Had a heartbreaking visit to Coniston House in east London this week. The homes are in terrible condition, and it's unacceptable. I’ll be raising my concerns with the Deputy Mayor. See below ⬇️ for more of what I’ve been up to this week.

We have written to every single Labour MP asking them to use their voice (and their votes!) Cuts do not have to be inevitable. You do not need to support this.

The government has pulled the rug out from under farmers by shutting down new SFI applications with zero notice, after previously saying they’d give six weeks' warning. It’s a disgraceful way to treat the farming community, and I’ll keep pushing them to fix this mess.

📊UK, Greens predicted to gain first seat on Cambridgeshire County LDEM: 24 (+4) CON: 20 (-8) LAB: 6 (-3) REF: 6 (+6) GRN: 1 (+1) OTH: 4 (-) via Electoral Calculus / 1-10 March

Tories are stoking hate against the LGBTQ+ community in Scotland. The Scottish Greens will stand with trans people today, tomorrow and always.🏳️‍⚧️

✊ LABOUR AUSTERITY IS STILL AUSTERITY ✊ Cllr Izzy Russell explains how Bristol Greens are cleaning up after Bristol Labour's mess and demands more from this Labour government. 1/2

In 2024 it took… 24,000 votes to elect one Labour MP 49,000 votes for one Lib Dem MP 56,000 votes for one Tory MP 485,000 votes for one Green MP and 823,000 votes for one Reform MP. Wherever you live and whoever you support, we believe all votes should be equal. Do you agree?

The Exe is a beautiful river, but constantly under threat of unchecked pollution, which damages its precious ecosystems. Luckily, there are campaigners who care and are working hard to stop the destruction, including @exetergreens.bsky.social

Investing in our #security means also investing in the #GreenTransition. Why should the EU keep wasting billions every year on buying energy from Russia or the US? 🤑 Let’s invest in real energy independence, in #ClimateAction, in green industry, in our security. @baseickhout.bsky.social ⬇️

Labour have pledged £1 billion of taxpayers' cash for this billionaire-owned vanity project. But apparently, there's no money left to rebuild public services. 🤔 Can you think of anything better it could be spent on?

Once again: Less road capacity means less traffic and less congestion and less pollution. Traffic data from Hammersmith Bridge expose the ludicrous situation where building Silvertown Road tunnel is being paid for by tolling Londoners to use Silvertown AND Blackwall tunnels to MANAGE DEMAND.

You have just got to love her @carladenyer.bsky.social 🔥🔥🔥

The choice could not be any clearer. Do you push 700,000 people into poverty by cutting lifeline benefits? Or do you get a grip on the extreme wealth being hoarded in this country? This IS a choice, and the Government knows it.

This is a disgraceful new low and shows exactly the reason why buffer zones are so necessary. I am concerned that the misinformation spread by JD Vance has empowered some of the most reactionary and misogynistic forces in our country. www.scotsman.com/news/politic...

I've been really busy recently, but y'day evening was a classic Greens vs Others. I pushed a vote on adding a Climate Change commitment to the Football Bill. Govt obv against, Tories kind enough not to whip, leaving their ppl to decide. Shame on @LibDems who abstained! Voting 8/160. Amdmt lost😥

Really awful news coming out of the oil tanker collision. Thoughts with the family of the person still missing. Many thanks to the emergency services who have worked hard to get people to safety - now fast response needed to contain environmental damage www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

You might be surprised to hear that I agree with the people who signed a petition to close the borders and stop all migration for five years. But here's the real reason.

🏠 BUCKINGHAM PALACE PAYS LESS COUNCIL TAX THAN HOUSES IN OLDHAM 🏠 Green Leader of Bristol City Council, Tony Dyer, tells the Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee about the difficult situation local councils face and how the Labour Party still refuse to help.

Thames Water. What a shit show.
