"The sun might not come out. It might not come out tomorrow, and it might not come out the next day, and it might not come out ever again. And if you don’t think that’s true, then watch the movie musical about all the orphans who didn’t get adopted."

are there any doctors on here, is it technically possible to die of popcorn overdose

Truly one of the most beautiful and haunting essays I’ve read.

Really hoping folks chuckle as much as I did when writing dad jokes. 👨

Never have I ever seen a rat run up the center aisle at a Broadway show. However, I have now seen it on the West End.

I’ve been thinking about this nonstop for 24 hours. It’s one of the most beautiful pieces I’ve ever read.

Are rick rolls still funny? Asking for a friend.

Once again. Dying. Dead. Deceased.

“And then I paused. Wait. Why am I thinking about the POPE cleaning up his timelines?” Dying, dead, deceased.

Many of my friends stopped using search because they can’t find the information they’re looking for anymore—there are devastating climate impacts. But you can’t blame the user for trying to solve a problem with the tools that are available to them.

Brooklyn bus stop ads being replaced with guerilla public service announcements.

For years, I've been thinking about digital death, and what happens to myself online when I die. I've shut down accounts across networks, deleted all social apps from my phone. With that, I've lost connections to ghosts of people I loved. medium.com/@alexandraw/...

I was asked by another laid off Googler if I knew Adam, if I read this blog, and all I could think to say is that he is incredibly kind, patient, thoughtful, and all of the adjectives you can think of when you think of your favorite people. I don't understand this. I'll never understand this.

Adam is the brightest, most authentic, inspiring, truly creative, high performing, deeply passionate, and nice person I have ever worked with. And then my employer decided to terminate his role. I am gutted and sick to my stomach. I will miss you, my friend 💔

This thread made my day.

I'm just a few videos in, but really enjoying this course in responsible AI development from Laurence Moroney (future proofing with @laurencemoroney.com, should he join BlueSky eventually). www.linkedin.com/learning/res...

Fulfill your dreams of moving or living in Canada -- and also working on Chrome, that, too.

@andreban.bsky.social and I are really proud of this one.

looking back, AOL had it right. 30 hours of internet per month was the right amount.

This has taken a lot of time, but I'm happy to share this curated list of current Off-Off Broadway shows. There are 21 shows here and I'll be updating on the regular. Take a look! Off-Off is theater's R&D department and it's where the wild thing are. www.timeout.com/newyork/thea...

Turns out my building hasn’t been paying for electricity for months, so ConEd is shutting it off. No lights, no washing machines, and most importantly, no elevators.

Last week, I deleted all of my posts from platform-not-named. I looked through my archive, so much joy early on, then so much heartache. It was a solid reminder that it’s important to share moments of celebration, even when things are scary.

Last night, I had my first big birthday party since 2020 (January, my birthday is in January!). The theme was ballgowns and nightgowns, and I got to make a bunch of yummy food and drinks.

HUZZAH

I miss the other communities I had curated on that-other-platform-we-left. I know a great thing about BlueSky is started packs — is there an NY theater community curation anywhere? Also, are we calling these things TopicSky (TheaterSky, TechSky, etc)? Can we?

Friends, I am BEGGING YOU to a) use alt text on all images in order to make them accessible to everyone and b) label the images of current political numbskulls with their names so the images are picked up by mute lists.

Well at least someone is having a good year.
