The trouble is, no matter how hard you try to be objective and unbiased, the unavoidable conclusion is that Trump is nightmarishly unqualified for office. So, what would be "centrist" in a sane world is now considered to be on the left. But, here we are.

He's not wrong about us being in a state of emergency, though. If you know what I mean. 💩🤡🖕

I guess I'm the only one here who thinks the person who was recording the cop was way too close and deserved to get pushed. And I'm no big fan of cops. There's nothing they could record from that distance that couldn't also have been recorded from two steps back.

Oh, sure. It's sort of a war of attrition. The rich can afford it, as long as they can drive the little guy out of business.

I just like that his last name is 'Fink.'

Hmmm. Why were the Germans so sanguine about it at first? "I don't know if you guys are history buffs or not, but..." --Norm MacDonald

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." Be ready. It may come to this.

Raymond Burr? Wasn't that the guy who killed Alexander Hamilton? /joke

This would have been the end of any other presidency. (But her emails!)

They'll make it all back when the economy crashes and they buy up everything for pennies on the dollar. Same thing happened with the pandemic. On paper, they lost big, but they all ended up richer.

Norm approves.

I've come to hate these fucking people more than Trump. Narcissistic assholes like him are a dime a dozen, but we never had to worry too much about them, because they can't rise to power without a lot of support. They are the ones to blame. Trump is just a tool. 3/3

Trump is the machine gun, and people like Musk and all the Republicans in congress are the chimps. They all fight each other for control, and it changes hands often, spraying bullets everywhere, dancing chaoticallty with the kickback. 2/

Yeah, we'll probably only end up springing forward to 1942.

Nope. Every accusation is a confession with those guys. And I don't think it's as hard as you think to rig the voting machines.

Oh, fuck off. What was I supposed to do? The only thing I could think of, you could've come across the border and done yourself.

I still feel that there's a good chance that the election was rigged. Why would we lose all seven swing states, and only by barely enough to not trigger an automatic recount? I can't prove it, but it makes more sense than that all those people stayed home.

All the people I used to think had some decency and common sense who are now simping for Trump and acting like those of us who oppose him are the freaks. "Why won't you pee in the pool with us??"

Don't forget to mention that the demagogue is also a Russian asset.

It's Biden's fault because of government funded sex changes for trans-roosters.

Sure. Just wipe a booger on him.

Will things go back to normal? I don't know. Some time after the Soviet Union, we got Putin. I'm sure that some of the damage from Trump will be permanent, or will sow the seeds for the next danger. But for a little while, we will celebrate.

I want to hear as many viewpoints as I can, as long as they're at least a little bit rational and coherent. I would even want to hear from Trump supporters, if they could muster a real argument. But I'm not going to hold my breath.

For me, it was 2008 and Sarah Palin. And I liked McCain, so it was a little hard to switch. Then in 2012, when not a single Republican candidate would affirm that the theory of evolution was scientific and should be taught in school, I couldn't go back. Then in 2016... you know the rest.

Nowhere left to run except maybe Mars. Perhaps this was Musk's plan all along, to make going to Mars sound like a good idea.

I get it, but don't we have to actually try it the legal way first before we rise up against the government? We can't just rise up for what we think they're going to do but haven't done yet.

Yeah, it doesn't work if everyone tries to keep their heads down, but I can't fault any individual for doing it. Does this count as a "tragedy of the commons" situation, in a way?

Huh. I learned something new. Thanks for that!

Collins was one of the responses on Jeopardy today. I tried explaining to my brother who she was by telling him about when she was (ostensibly) so surprised that DJT would dismiss all those inspectors general when he was supposed to be all about anti-corruption and waste. Weaponized ignorance.

I don't know. I can't get laid, I have no social skills, and I play Xbox all day in my mom's basement, but I still knew enough to never vote for a felon rapist grifter.

Ah, the old "you mentioned X and not Y" argument when on a platform limited to 300 chars. What a dope.
